When is the structured dialogue meeting?

It will be interesting to see what is said about our summer transfer dealings and what plans are being put in place for January. Looking at the bigger picture, updates on the TG and East Stand will be welcome also.

Does it matter what is said . All anyone wants is improving results and I believe we are all singing from the same hymn sheet no matter what is said at this meeting. What will happen at this meeting is more excuses to get on this website and moan.

I would like to see questions of the summer on reflection, some of the deals that didn't happen, the wage structure, the pricing being too high and how the membership is going, selling Bowler late and being cash rich, we brought in Wright who looks good and reportedly cost 750k ish, but we still should have the vast majority of the Critch and Bowler money in the bank, as we have a budget anyway without that income.

How we plan to grow the fanbase, kind of relates to pricing as its not going to grow under the current prices baring a promotion push.

Anymore?

Surely pies and the vegan options must get a mention….

These are all reasonable, sensible points which could, but won’t be, addressed or answered.

Nonsense the club at these meetings have always been honest and open but there are certain things that can't be said if it's not signed and sealed.
Why don't you attend and ask a question or join a group and get them to ask it rather than this constant negative drone you've come accustomed to spouting on here.
To be grammatically correct it’s actually become accustomed to spouting. There’s always the ignore option, that’s if you only want to read the jaundiced, club can’t do anything wrong perspective.

Police Grammar bore.👍

Club have got some things wrong and many things right but to say we'll be told bugger all after they are doing two meetings in a space of a week is plain wrong.

That's the problem with the modern fan they want to know every single thing about the club and just moan yet we have a SLO who always answers questions on here or can be contacted.

Most fans, including me, don’t want to know everything, that’s a ridiculous all encompassing statement. We would like to know more than we are being told, which as I said is bugger all. Signings which fell through, positions which need filling and haven’t been. Just general stuff which is of concern to supporters. A bigger transfer budget? which resulted in fewer signings, these things are our concern. All we get are generalities and made to feel as if it’s nothing to do with us. The club needs to remember the fans aren’t an interruption to their business, they’re the reason for it.

Isn't that what the meetings are for.🤷

Excuses?? We don't need to give people more excuses!!! Please ** no more excuses!!

It would be good if some independent fans other than group representation could go, it just feels too clicky. On the other hand the ones who do go tend to represent a lot of people.

What an absolute ridiculous title for a meeting - 'structured dialogue' - makes me cringe.
🎯
Sounds like a Karl Oyston idea. If it's not structured dialogue ie on his terms, it doesn't get aired. Don't blame him though tbf. Must be tedious having to listen to most of these types of fan. When can we wave our flag? Can we organise a clap on twenty minutes for elderly scam victims? etc. Like the neighbour from Bad Santa x 200 or however many go.

Some good responses and some funny ones tbf on this thread. Seriously though, the various fan groups between them should be able to pick off the main questions that we would like asked. Fot its part the club honours the process too. Anyone remember the days of the FPG charade? BST always canvasses our membership, I've seen Ash do this for the PLF/Boar's Head/No10 express group, and I hope MSG and other groups do the same. We're most of us busy people, why not use the opportunity well?👍

FFT - it's the EFL's choice of title, and holding these meetings is something the club is obliged to do.

The way these meetings work varies from club to club, but (for example) the BST Committee and Members have come up with a range of questions covering topics such as player recruitment, infrastructure, the cost of living crisis, stewarding, BFC/BST joint working and ticketing policy. We'd like to think most fans would have an interest in most of those things.

Most fans would and most fans would like proper answers and not vague generalisations.

These meetings are a good idea in theory, but it's pretty obvious the club are just going through the motions because they are obliged to hold them.

Any decent questions are never answered because of "commercial sensitivity", so you just end up with hearing about trivial stuff like goal music, and Mansford grandstanding in front of an audience that we're going to sign Haaland in January and that Liz Hurley will be serving the free pie and pints in the Heineken Lounge.

That's fair enough; I was only commenting on the title of the meeting, not the purpose of it.

A lot of bitching and moaning from the same people on here as always yet not a single straight forward wuestion put forward.

The club have to hold these sort of meetings. Fans may as well take advantage of that and put questions forward. What’s the issue ??

Apologies for being ageist but Isn’t Liz Hurley getting a bit old for this kind of gig 🤔

Think they’re a great idea personally, another example of the club trying to be more transparent 👍🏼
You'd hope so. The bigger problem seems to be people expecting to be told things that they are really never going to be privy too. I don't really care why we didn't get X & Y player. It's frustrating of course, but you're always going to lose out on some targets. I'd be more concerned if we're also making no progress on club infrastructure. These are the things that will make us better longer term.

I agree in part. However, is it not right to question the people who are doing the recruiting if you believe there to be something lacking in the execution?

That, surely if the point of the meeting. To be able to ask awkward questions.

Of course. People should be questioned and held to account. Not that I think it will happen, but we shouldn't sleepwalk into a new phase of 'shit ownership' just because the previous bunch were utter charlatans.
But at the same time, asking 'why didn't we sign X, Y or Z?' at the meeting isn't going to get a totally new answer where BM reveals the offers made, the results/concerns of the medical or how much we offered Bowler to sign a new contract. There's transparency and then there's airing all manner of private details in public. Some people will demand that anyway, be let down and then blame others.

I'd also be very happy to have awkward questions raised around the infrastructure projects (East and TG) and push for clear dates/timeframes and a realistic impact assessment on our ability to compete on the pitch whilst these investments are occurring. Ultimately, being frugal on players is only acceptable if there's some frivolity around other club related spending.

Really need to ask what the policing arrangements are going to be of the game with that lot down the road.
They can't say they can't keep them held back until all the home fans have disbursed as that is exactly what they did at dumpdale for a hour last season.

Not sure people want all the details, a general answer may be enough, maybe that was already given.

My question on the wage structure, I don't want to know details of exact amounts. But we know it's a lower one.

It's evident it makes of difficult to sign players, I believe the plan is to buy and sell players for profit and that might lead to higher wages available too, would be good to get some clarification on how we are going to grow.

If we want to grow the wage structure then attracting more fans is key. We won't do that at higher prices now. You need to attract people first.

We invest in infrastructure but surely an investment in the fanbase is key.

An update on infrastructure is welcome.

How the club plans to grow the fanbase going forward would be interesting to know, I haven't seen to much focused on this. Price is a huge factor so is creating a buzz which I feel is an area they've fallen short on a bit.

At times you need repeated marketing, leaflet drops, deals, out the box thinking etc.

Hilly, a meeting of all interested groups with the Police is scheduled for Wednesday.
