When will announcement be made ???

if interviews have taken place with others, but not Dobbie that’s really really poor and a bit disrespectful of the job he did when so called better options delivered disastrous results and performances out of the same squad. I hope it’s just paper talk.
I don't think it's disrespectful at all tbh. I reckon Dobbie is completely cool with it, understands it's a process dictated by circumstances, and his chance is there now to talk. He wanted to focus on the football up to Tuesday, and have a couple of days break.

Dave, I hope you enjoy.
It does seem a long time since we met up. I think Peterborough away was the last time and Covid interrupted my attendance at matches, plus the fact that I spent about 8 months in hospital last year being treated for leukaemia, kidney failure and related complications. I also lost 8 stone in the process, but have been in remission and kidneys recovered and been home recovering since December. Eldest son got married in March and my daughter gets married in Kirby Stephen at the end of this month. I hope to get to a couple of matches next season.

What’s disrespectful about it ???? It’s not his job. He’s the Development Coach and he stepped in for 6 games in an almost irretrievable situation. Virtually no pressure and he couldn’t have done any worse than his predecessor. He hasn’t done enough to get the job and that’s not his fault, but Dobbie is not the answer.

I do not understand why the Sporting Director has to be in place before the manager is announced. Interviews for the manager's job have already taken place without a Sporting Director being in post, so why cannot a manager be announced first?

I'd give him the job. I like the cut of his jib.

3 wins and 3 clean sheets out of 6 games in charge is not bad going at all. Especially when we are, on points (without deductions) the worst team in the league. Dobbie must have something about him to get a tune out of the same players two much more experienced managers couldn't. Then you have to consider how low team morale must have been at that point in the season when facing relegation.

Given we are now in League One I think it's a no brained to give him the job. I'm not sure most realistic fans are demanding an immediate promotion. We want to see progress and entertaining football. There would be support in the main for Dobbie as he is a fans favourite so would get a bit of leeway if things don't go to plan straight away. He'd probably be a cheap option too, so would be quite low risk if he did need replacing.

Then there's the fact that he'd be head coach, not manager so he would have a bit of pressure off to work with the team on the training ground. Hopefully the new sporting director will be a success and improve on recruitment, which will in then give the head coach an easier task.
