We lose to many games to teams below us and the ones above have to many points and games in hand and have something we haven’t got and that’s ………..’consistency ‘ we are just not good enough . Neither is Critchley for me he took us far as he could first time around when he left and I think he’s there again , we’ve got key players missing from the first team must be due to contracts and more will join soon ,we are due to lose a key man in JR . This year could be bleak .We need a character to spark life into bloomers again and I don’t believe that’s Critch but you know I’ve said that from the start . A good coach but not a motivator.
You can tell I’m once again disappointed 😞

I for all my years following BFC and that is over fifty dont want to see a manager merry go round . YES they would be queuing round the block . BUT what type of coach would be suitable/ available. its NOT briiliant but as i have pointed out before every team takes a look at itself at the end of the season. WE might just be in contention. probably not. So lets see where we are at the end of April.

Yawn

I don't think they would be queuing round the block.
We end up with ex managers who know what to expect around the place. We can't turn a blind eye to the fact that in certain areas we are still playing catch up i.e. facilities.
Don't think it's any surprise we end up with the amounts and similarity in injuries around the place, which isn't a great advertisement for potential incoming players or managers.

I do wonder, and I've asked people before, if you inserted another name into the situation, exact same results, points, squad, would we want to see it through to the end of season.

Lets face it, we’re stuck with him, the only way he’s going to be potted, is if we start to lose home games and slide down the table to the point that we could be relegated. Simon doesn’t do knee jerk.

I am starting to think that the players are also the problem, are we over rating these players?

Realistically apart from Rhodes and dembele who else in this squad stands out as a top quality league one player who would get into any of the other teams?

I thought the likes of Connolly, husband, ekpiteta, CJ and lavery would drop down a league and be really strong but they still don't look to have the quality to get us out of this league.

The only name I can see in the short term is Dobbie and if I was him I'd steer well clear- just a hiding to nothing really. Not that a vacancy will arise any time soon.

Conversations need to be had now though in preparation. The first one would be who is going to oversee the next move, because someone doesn't seem to have a great track record.

He took us as far as he could the first time around? You mean getting us promoted to The Championship and keeping us there?

Don't get me wrong, I was massively disappointed with our away showing again yesterday, Portsmouth aside, we have a diabolical away record, especially against teams lower down the league.

There's plenty of criticism to go around, Critchley must shoulder a portion of that blame and the players aren't exempt from being culpable either.
Is Critchley good enough? Are the players good enough? As fans do we expect too much?

League 1 may be a shite league but its a difficult one to progress from, we won't be the first to find that out, ask Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich, Derby and Portsmouth.
In my opinion, for what it's worth, it's got to be horses for courses and that means playing a simple system the players we have can cope with, it means recruiting and playing our better players, week in, week out. Fancy formations and team rotation is for higher leagues and better players than we have, simple as that.

Promotion this season has just about gone, if Rhodes goes back, we can forget it. We need to start our recruitment now for next season. Critchley needs to be far more flexible with his formations and to somehow discover a plan B, because at the moment we just don't have one.

It’s been said a thousand times before and I’ll say it again Critch needs a good experienced No.2 not a couple of nodding dogs that he’s got at the moment. Critch is a coach first and foremost but can’t seem to make the big calls and tweak things when necessary.
Too late for that. It should have been done from Day 1. God knows why it wasn't- absolute stupidity of unbelievable proportions.

I agree
Considering how fast we were falling last season. Firstly we needed to stop sliding. We've somewhat done that.
Teams near the top have been gearing up for a while, building season on season. We started the season going backwards.

We all have high ambitions, of course we do, and we still do whilst its mathematically possible.

What I don't want is to get back up, and yo-yo. And I'm not sure if we could seriously go up and stay up with the core we have now and I don't see us being able to bring in the types of players we want/need to keep us up either, at present.

League one pisses me off, away form pisses me off, but I just don't see it as a simple change the manager fix. Last season feels like it ruined the foundations, and we need to sort that.

Spot on 👍

I'm sure, although I haven't checked, that statistically the best chance of promotion is in the first year. So if you can go up, then go up, grab the money and spend wisely. The money would be around £10m better off next season (think that's a ballpark).

As it stands I don't see how the consistency required will come and that's not just in the next few weeks but longer term.

I think its around 20%, although I've seen as little as 13% chance for bounce back, from various sources.

We have pissed it away this year with the self indulgent re-hiring of Sadlers favourite coach. He was never going to deliver an instant promotion and is hell bent on proving to the great unwashed thickos like me that selection whack-a-mole and tactical rigidity is the secret to success.

Because those who were saying were shouted down as clowns with no idea. Same as those calling for Dobbie int he first place. Too busy laughing at the guy who showed how to set up attack minded teams and get results.

The fashionistas with their “I told you so” Critchley memes have certainly gone quiet.

Its not coach we need, we’ve got one now🤬 we need a manager, someone who can manage men not coach youngsters. Someone who has played more than a handful of professional games. I appreciate that not all former players make good managers, but in all walks of life people listen to and take more notice of someone who has been there and done it.

And yet Hamilton is given another 3+1.🤷

One of the worst decisions this club has made unless we sell him in January. He makes us a really poor team but Blackpool fans are absolutely blind to it.

We play with 10 men 9 out of 10 games he plays. Yet another absolutely abject performance on Saturday.

Neil should play Gabriel and Dale/Thompson on either side.

Simon doesn’t do knee jerk?

That worked a treat last season.

The club motto: Progress?

No. "Too little, too late"
