Where are all these people who thought

Mick McCarthy was a good appointment as Blackpool manager?

He's turning out to be worse than Appleton with god awful tactics and player selections

It isn't a surprise mind, you only have to look at his last 1000 games or so to see how he wants to play

What a bizarre fcuked up appointment

The only positive is that we still aren't out of it and that's a fcuking miracle given how shit we have been in the last 7 games with the ball just twatted into the air all the time
Wait till Gary's back. Then the goals will flow...

🤣

With both, I had misgivings, especially Appleton who we'd seen before and only seen uninspiring football, whereas McCarthy comes with a reputation as a man with a pragmatic style.

He's come in and slowed down the ridiculous goals we were conceding, but the midfield is still rubbish, while we've been shorn of forwards through injury and suspension.

Appleton should have gone after the Wigan shambles and a long term appointment made then.

He was kept on too long, and McCarthy has been left with a shambles of players bereft of confidence, injuries and no chance of getting additional players in.

McCarthy has to get maybe another 15 points between now and the end of the season. Over the last 4 games we've picked up 5. Keep doing that and we might be OK.

We were definitely down under Appleton, whereas I still think we have a chance.

A win on Saturday changes everything.

Onwards and upwards.
Was Appleton responsible for us playing most of the game with 10 men against Wigan?
If memory serves we almost held on to a point.

After 39 points being too many to be relegated from the Prem - I don’t put any store in points targets. The target has always been 1 more point than the team 3rd from bottom………trends are always there to be broken (see above re:premier league)

It looks bleak but we’re not done until it’s mathematically certain. So we get behind the team and we stay hopeful.

And then no matter what we hold the board to account and demand better recruitment of managers and players.

UTMP
And every season since 39points has been enough to ensure Premiership survival☹️
Statto fact - we scored the most goals ever for a team relegated from the Prem*

*Awaits shouts out for Hollowords to be our new manager next season...

How can you say we were definitely down under Appleton? very bizarre, we were a mid table team under Appleton, nothing more nothing less.

Let's be fair we stunk the division out for the best part of three months under Appleton, maybe bar a couple of okay 45 mins; he had the longest winless streak in football at the time of his sacking. We've looked shocking under McCarthy too. I really think it's pointless arguing their finer points. It has been nothing short of a disastrous season so far, all in all.

To answer: People probably looked at the appointment with some optimism a few weeks ago, thinking a change would bring a bit of a bounce pull us out of the mire. It's already looking like the latest in a succession of poor, shortsighted decisions however.

Can't say I'm optimistic about going to Reading on Sat.
Don't sit near me you negative **.

Crickey you looked at his last 1000 games to come up with that rubbish ,you need to get out more ang get a life outside football instead of posting shit like this to get a run chase all the while 🙄.

The fact is, Appleton should have been replaced by a permanent manager when the world cup break started. Then ,instead of the sunning themselves abroad, which has obviously been of no benefit, the players could have been coached to pass a ball on the ground and to each other.
