Where did my thread go

The thread I started when the Club made the training ground announcement seems to have disappeared, presumably deleted for some reason?

I am aware there is an existing thread started just over a week ago when it became clearer there was an an announcement going to be made very soon but I would have thought when the actual announcement with a link to the details is worthy of a thread in its own right. The original thread was fairly generic because we didn’t have any details..

If I started a thread in a few weeks on what we would like to see in next years fixture list, when it gets announced would someone not be able to start a new thread?

Just wondering what the rules are so as not to waste time on messages in the future..

We merged the two training ground threads together after requests from posters for one thread and so all the messages are in one place 👍
Makes sense not to have multiple threads running at the same time. Better to be all under there for more discussion 👍

Have put a link in the op so people can skip straight to the announcement discussion if they want.

We often have multiple threads though, it seems to me, and usually just because people don't check if there is one already. Whereas Johnno chose to start a new thread to mark the announcement, which seems reasonable. As indicated by the inclusion of a link in the old thread.

Exactly. I thought the actual announcement (pretty important in the history of the club if you think about it !! ) was worthy of a thread in its own right rather than tagging on to the end of a still fairly generic thread on the training ground of which there have been hundreds over the years. Is this now the defacto training ground thread moving forward as things start to develop, if not what could a new thread be started for? When the club submits its planning application, will we still be using the same thread or could a new one be started?

Just using my original example if I started a thread called 2022/23 fixture list, when the actual fixture list gets announced, would admin expect subsequent discussions on the fixtures to be added to my thread or would it be OK to start a new thread?

And they haven't merged the Tory Corner thread about the training ground into the chosen thread either. :O

I've seen very rigid forums where it's almost impossible to start a new thread. So threads go back years. And then you get forums where there are multiple duplicate threads that just creates a mess. There's a good freedom to this place, it works fine, just delete obvious duplicates. The training ground announcement warranted a new thread surely.

I realise the mods were just responding to requests and are probably more reactive than proactive due to time constraints.

Would just be good to get clarification around what is worthy of a new thread - if an announcement like the training ground wasn’t worth a new thread then I’m not sure what would be!!

I note as well we already have multiple threads on the season ticket announcement (justifiably as well I believe).
