Loved breakfast in America & the fact that an English band could be arsed flying over to America for breakfast should be commended, kippers I reckon they had- probably flown over from Arbroath- a lot of travelling involved for breakfast in my opinionSuper tramp penned some top tunes in that suprband era
That sounds fantastic. Always wanted to make that Memphis trek but always ended up close by but no cigar. One day hopefully. The Stax museum would be like entering soul heaven. Otis's suede jacket, iconic. The Crop did a brilliant and long version of Green Onions that night with his band at the Robin. Unforgettable.Great stuff, love to hear little personal experiences like that, bet you were made up. We went to Memphis some years ago and did all the music venues and museums including Stax Museum, so many artefacts in there including Steve Cropper’s guitar and Booker.T’s original Hammond organ they recorded Green Onions on plus Otis Redding’s short brown suede jacket on show, which I gawped at for about 5 minutes! and the history of Soul from its early Gospel beginnings, loved it!
With you with the Red Hots. Eclectic mix of rock and funk among the best to work in that genre. Blood sugar sex magic one of my fave albums. Though should have saved that info for a fave album thread. Instead I "Give it Away" on hereRed Hot Chilli Peppers
