Which Players Are Wasting Their Time And Ours At BFC?

Seems a nice lad but I think Virtue and Gabriel could do with a fresh start. If we are still languishing in Division 3 next season I’d be looking to move on if I was Lavery.

Virtue but I’m resigned to the fact he’s going to retire here.
Can’t put my finger on why he’s not progressing. His skills are decent, his attitude is good, and he wants to learn so why is his career stalling? That’s why I’m thinking a fresh start would be good for him.

Is there any future for Oakley-Booth!
Maybe he will get a chance in Cup games ahead.

I think some of the youngsters out on loan will be shown the door

Holmes was on verge of first team. What has gone wrong
Playing in NPL is a comedown

I can never understand signing injured players with poor injury records.
Last season we had three midfielders that spring to mind who never played. Stewart, Bridcott and Trybull and we ended up paying for it with relegation.
Oakley-Booth a young lad who seems to be injured prone would seem another poor signing.

I expected Oakley Booth to progress, he has enough ability to perform at this level but just has'nt up to now.
Must show it on the training ground, but does he really want it you have to ask ?

That’s the thing for whatever reason some players seem injury prone and some are in the wrong environment to fully flourish.

What a disrespectful title.

These lads have dedicated themselves to a career in professional football; every one of them continues to do their best. It's not wasting time, it's trying to be better.

Whether they are good enough to play at our level/higher/lower not one of them is wasting their time.
I agree. An entirely negative and disrespectful thread.

Which fans are wasting their time and ours on avftt?

Jordan Gabriel??, the lad is talented and a big player for us at this level he urgently needs a consistent injury free run of games to prove it.
Has he ever had a consistent injury/illness free run? Really like him and seems a nice bloke but hes in and out all the time.

Nope just like any profession there are assets and people who would be better off and happier elsewhere. Don’t be so precious.

It’s a gamble but it rarely pays off. That said look at Rhodes with us compared to Huddersfield.

Could we change this post title to :

Which Posters Are Wasting Their Time And Ours On AVFTT?

I am sure it’s a long list - feel free to name some

Never understand posts like this - they are people at the end of the day who are doing their best in a profession they clearly have talent in.

Bridcutt was desperation, Trybull has played 350+ games so he can't have that bad an injury record, and Stewart was under contract.

My point LS was they were all injured when we signed them and getting paid.
Any players we sign I want them to be up and running and hopefully improving our team.

That’s not always going to be the case as the thinking is we’ll still get some games with the player. Players also have to take some responsibility for themselves. Injury prone or getting older? Consult experts and modify your training and preparation. Hamstring problems? Ryan Giggs went from driving manual to automatic and did daily yoga. Being professional means being prepared.

There isn’t any real duffers just degrees of slightly worse, slightly better bar our loan players. That’s Critch ball model.

You can lose players to injury and another similar level player replaces them. Then you just need a crop of star loan players to add some magic and it’s promotion time.

Some of the players like Thompson, Tharme or maybe even Lyons might ask to leave as they’re not playing week in week out?

Lions is a puzzle. He needs to be playing otherwise it’s a wasted season for him. So long as favoritism is not a fact he should fight for a place in the first team, and beef up a little.

They weren't though.

Bridcutt managed 4 games before breaking down, so had done enough to convince the club of his fitness, Trybull managed 4 before doing his hamstring, but had been playing regularly in Germany beforehand, even Stewart played a reasonable number of games in 2021.

English game is more physical so more injuries will occur. That said the amount of hamstring injuries is worrisome and a training review should be completed.
