Who’s to blame , injury’s, Ben mansford or Michael appleton

Can't pass, can't control a ball, can't tackle, head tennis, can't even take a throw in. Hoof football, these are professional football players .. tactics crap. Don't mind losing a game , if we actually play football. Team again played like a Sunday lower pub team. What footballer would want to come in January and play this style of hit and hope football..

We were superb against Coventry and the nobbers and we got more injuries and an bug that went through the squad, that's why. But we have been let down by the board in the last 2 transfer windows which has hampered us massively.

tonight Appleton and his reluctance to alter tactics, we are getting over run in midfield game after game, until some players come back he has to go 442

Our failure to bring in a couple of quality midfielders and a championship striker in the summer.

I’am pretty sure Appleton identified several targets and we spoke to them but Mansford failed to get over the line.

Final insult for me was letting Bowler go on the cheap minutes before the window closed.

Mansford again.

That said this job is not for Appleton championship is above him and as for giving him a 4 year contract it’s just laughable.

All of them.

A quality central midfielder still needs to be motivated to give 100%, I don't think they did that.

Its the managers job to develop the players and that ain't happening. Blame can be apportioned everywhere but last night and recent poor performances are on Appleton. He sets the tone (usually negatively) and has to prepare the players, they didn't look prepared last night, illness bug or not, in fact he seemed to write the game off in advance which is unforgivable. A lack of interest and motivation and that can only come from one place.

They share the blame, injuries, players, illnesses, Appleton, Mansford, indeed the whole board and coaching staff. I don’t think you can pin it on one individual.

Firstly, we played well against Coventry, but we were a long way from superb against the knobbers. In fact luck played a massive part in that result.

We’ve struggled this season (as a squad) to make the transition from one Manager to another.

We’ve been hampered with more injuries than we would normally expect, more recently illness too, and in the case of yesterdays game, the timing of the game has affected us.

We’ve not been “Let Down” in the transfer windows. That’s just ‘spoilt child’ language… We have had to deal with the reality of the ridiculous financial disadvantage that smaller Clubs like our face in this league, due to a combination of parachute payments and high risk policy by other Club’s who are trying to keep up. The average wage in the Championship is something like £35K per week…. That’s £1.8M (or to put it more succinctly, at leat 2/3rds of our annual Season Ticket revenue) for a single player…

The reality is that we can’t compete in the Transfer Markets at this level… So we rely on trying to adopt a different strategy…

It’s fairly obvious that the Club and recruitment team are trying to build from the ground up. They have put a solid structure in place to start developing players and we have been signing younger players who can hopefully contribute in the future -they get no credit fir that !! In fact Mansford seemingly gets no credit at all for transforming a Club that was literally on its knees, following years of decay and under investment to the professional outfit we are today.

We do have a big problem at Blackpool Football Club though… We’ve developed a massive dose of “Smacked Arse” syndrome…

Fans that used to have a bit of backbone and fight… Who would back the lads and make plenty of noise when the team was 2-0 down, now just filter out of the Stadium to head for the nearest internet point to start ranting about how other people aren’t doing there bit.

The sky isn’t falling in right now any more than we were the next Champions League winners after the Coventry game.

We’re a club in transition in a very tough league, where the financial odds are against us. We’ve had a poor run of form, which is linked to a horrendous set of injuries and some illness in the squad…..

The biggest issue is trying to keep a sense of perspective and balance, recognising the situation for what it is and collectively contributing to a positive environment that will help to make things better, as opposed to …. a negative one that just makes it worse…

All 3, failure is never just one person's fault. We are failing at the moment for a number of reasons. I'm just hoping the WC break gives everyone the chance to reassess and do things better.

Bishop, Simms, Dele-Bashiru, Brannigan, Barlaser all targets, all missed out on and instead we got free agents and loans and 6th choice Callum Wright on the last day for the sake of it.

Bowler gone on the last day instead of the first. Critchly compensation money. Must be mental if you dont think the summer hasnt had a part to play in the state of our struggling squad. The fact grant ward has been in the starting line up is utter desperation given he was only training with us to get fit and find a new club.

I understand the squad is depleted but we had the same players with the same injury issues last year and the year before that. We all knew we needed to strengthen in the middle of the park, at center half, a winger or two and a striker and all we have done is bring in loans in them positions and havnt strengthend up front.

There are many factors into why we are where we are, but one of the many factors is deffianitly recruitment in the summer you can not ignore it.

We get over run because we don't press as a team. Too many players sitting and waiting and leaving gaps.

I haven’t said that the issues experienced with recruitment haven’t had a part to play. What I’ve said is that pointing the finger of blame at Ben Mansford is ridiculous.

But he is part to blame and deserves the critisism thats his department he’s the front man and it’s not been good enough hence the position we find ourselves in.

No…. Nobody is to blame… it’s just a reality that we face, given the financial disadvantage we deal with.

If you want to blame anyone, then blame the football authorities for creating a situation that is anti-competition..
