Why?

A complete waste of a season followed by a massive player exodus? As of now we don’t have an eleven capable of anything. Who is stopping the goals, creating the goals and scoring them for us? Critchley is right back at square one. Is there even a plan?

Big summer ahead. 2 strikers, at least 1 CH, CDM, CAM, RWB, plus replacing anyone that leaves. It's going to be a tall order for the club to get in the players to take us to the next level or even just keep us at the same level.

Loanees should always be better than players we can sign on permanent deals, otherwise what's the point?
Don’t agree. Loanees should accentuate the team because of injuries. Improve the team if normally out of our range and have something to prove or to take a look at fit and finish prior to becoming a permanent

There's plenty of time yet to re-build the squad. Don't think anyone can complain with the loans last season. Usually they are better quality players which a club generally can't afford to buy. Sometimes loans turn into permanent transfers.

The seasons only been finished a week....chill out and relax for a good few weeks.

I think we can replace what we have lost. Marv, yeh decent defender but hardly irreplaceable, I'd even say Casey is better in a lot of ways already so he's just a different type of defender who is probably more suited to how we want to play. Lavery, Connolly and Virtue have been awful so again should be replaceable. Apter hopefully should be back in a good place and then another 2 or 3 loans to give us that sprinkle of stardust for this division. I think we will be better for the clear out. Hopefully another couple are sold or loaned b4 next season.

You are kidding yourself if you think we will be better next season.

Exactly why I don’t get all the “ critchley needs time brigade”…it’s like starting again, not building from……

There’s some total mystic meg prediction shit going on here today.

If we finish 1 place higher next season than this, then it is better than this season. Who knows what will happen over the summer? The recruits we get in, the loans we take and the overall blend.

The only thing I can predict is most of you will moan at signings before seeing them (there were some classics last season when we signed Dembele!).

Critchley came back in last summer and inherited what he had. Some of that was his from before, some was Appleton's. There's been a season for him to assess everything and now he needs to build a squad that's almost totally his. He's got the summer to do it and next season to prove he's got it right.

Loanees are not there in case of injuries. They are players who are either on their way to better things (e.g. Shelvey and Coleman) or surplus to requirements or not yet ready at higher league clubs but better than we have or can afford at our level (e.g. Rhodes and Patino). If we just used them to warm the benches until someone got injured or suspended the parent clubs would not be happy.

AS was said on the club statement . Every playing squad has a natural cycle . No doubt that the Critchmeister will have some targets . Its up to the CEO and Uncle Simon to make it happen. Lets not get into a panic quite yet.

Don't be coming on AVFTT and making a totally sensible and well informed comment........You're going to be scaring people

Why a manager would need a season plus friendlies to assess is beyond me. Who has that luxury? What bothers me is he never knew his best team, never had a plan b, never figured out the division and had us in a play off position. I cannot see measurable progress anywhere on the field so why is he suddenly going to get it right next season? I really wish we’d take advantage of hull’s folly.

That post is utterly ridiculous and completely the opposite what the loan system is for and why clubs loan their players.
A club loans a player to keep him happy, to gain valuable match experience and further the players development or for a player to regain fitness, confidence and sharpness.

Secondary, manager wants rid of predecessors player choices. The club getting the loan player has perspectives listed before. Thank you for being such a loyal fan.

No one has seen anything from Sadler to Critchley that says lessons learned we can and will do better.

Oh my goodness read. We signed Rhodes who had done nothing for awhile because we had no available forward and couldn’t score a goal. Perfect example of loan - problem/solution.

I guess we will see what happens on the 12th of June
If you’re thinking about the issues in HK, I think the next hearing will be to take pleas. Unless there’s a plea bargain being negotiated, the pleas will be not guilty and the case will be referred up to a higher court for trial.

So that piece of theatre is going to run for a long time yet.

we let Rob Apter go on loan, some players we gave contracts to,are not better than Apter.

I'd like to see at least 3 perm signings - CB, CM, CF - and I'd like them all to be experienced players at this level, or who've dropped from Championship. Bolster that with 4 or 5 good loan signings, which for the most part we do seem to get more right than wrong.

It's not a small exercise and also relies on players like Norburn, Joseph/Beesley, Morgan performing and us not losing some who I think may get offers like Gabriel, Grimshaw and Pennington - and possibly Apter tbh.

I don't know if you'd noticed, but you can't get loans to cover injuries. Season long or January to the end of the season.

First time round was good 👍
Last season - hit and miss. Some good signings and some crap ones.

We don’t know yet what next season will bring. It might be crap (sack manager) might be the same (not enough lessons learned), it might be amazing (lessons learned).

If you really don’t believe it can improve in any way then no point watching it or renewing the tickets. Save yourselves the pain and follow the Paulco boycott.

For me it’s a new season. Let’s see what that brings!!
