What a Dick. He himself laughs at a joke that Chris Rock makes about his wife at The Oscars then walks up on stage and smacks Chris Rock in the mouth. Then after winning Oscar makes a long self indulged rambling speech about what God has asked him to do etv.

I think he’s struggling a bit

He's definitely struggling, don't think it was the time or place to be fair. Could have had a word behind closed doors and I'm sure he'd have apologised. Wild night at the oscars.
 
He slaps him. If it was real security would have been all over it and he would have been thrown out, not even Will Smith would be allowed to get away with that.
Let's see if he's arrested and charged with assault.

LA police have issued a statement saying that they won’t be investigating the incident as no one has yet filed a complaint.

I never understand how that works. So if you’re lucky you hit someone who doesn’t report it but if you’re unlucky you get a conviction…….if that’s how the law works then it’s a bit odd eh
 
I think it’s real.

I think Smiths marriage is an emotional drama in itself and probably taken its toll
on his state of mind.

It's not remotely true is it? If I go out this afternoon and hit over the head with a baseball bat and stabbed 6 times I have to report it or the police won't take action.........what a crock of bull.

I was a witness (provided video footage) to a very serious assault where a schoolgirl got battered senseless by about 6 others, in a planned attack.
The Police told me the attackers were looking at custodial sentences and guaranteed that due to the video I’d given them, the prosecution would go ahead whether the victim pressed charges or not.
It was dropped by request of the victim, as she feared further bullying.

* The video had been filmed by one of the attackers, I wasn’t stood by filming!
 
Problem is the precedence this sets.

In my opinion as soon as he assaulted him he should have been removed by security.

Or is it ok next year for someone else to have a slap at the presenter if they don’t like a comment or two.

Correct, justice is never served or dropped at the request of the victim it's one of the myths that seems to get banded about. If a law is broken its up to the police and CPS end of.

If he was taking the piss out of Smith's wife's alopecia for a cheap laugh perhaps he deserved more than a slap.
 
The biggest problem I have is that Will Smith found it funny, then turned with his wife's reaction. It sets a dangerous precedent that
the academy not doing anything about it, and the audience reacts minutes later with a standing ovation that violence is okay as long
as an excuse can be made. All comedy is making fun of someone or a situation.

Totally agree with all that.
Luckily the academy appear to be taking some form of action now. Otherwise asault at the Oscar’s could become a free for all. Imagine 🤦‍♀️
 
Ironically, a dignified silence from the Smiths would have had far more impact and Rock would have been vilified anyway for his tasteless ‘joke.’

Jada smith is beautiful with or without hair.

That’s true, Blood and if that is the case, then I genuinely feel sorry for Rock because it’ll be difficult to prove, I guess. People assume it was a pointed dig because he ‘roasts’ people for a living but Smith’s response was ridiculous and completely ott. I just felt sorry for Jada. As an aside, I never watch the Oscars or BAFTA awards …not into back-slapping luvvies and films are subjective anyway…
