Will Steven Gerrard call for Critch?

Doubt it

They weren’t exactly the dream team last time they worked together

As Critch said in his interview when asked the question he replied. “No . I’ve done that”

Don't know what Gerrards thinking, well I do ...money.
Completely pointless in his career, he could win every game 5 nil for 2 years and still be where he is now when he comes back to England.

Unai emery came to AV and suddenly there a decent team making SG and Quitch look fairly poor and out of their depth… qpr🤦‍♂️….I think quitchly is lucky to get another opportunity to be honest..
I’m sorry. But Critchley is first and foremost a coach. Not a manager. A coach needs time to develop players and tactics. A manager relies more on man management and can sometimes get pretty quick results if the players are of good enough standard. There’s absolutely no way whatsoever you can blame Aston Villa or QPR’s results on Neil Critchley based on the time he was with them. Anyone who thinks that 5 months at Villa or 2 months at QPR is a fair indication of his coaching ability is absolutely moronic.

I get where you coming from, but you don’t get time at most clubs …..villa and qpr where very poor whilst quitch was involved…with the same players and a new better coach/manager AV are like a diff team and that was pretty much instant once emery rocked up…

Firstly, the use of "Quitch" is cringe. Always was, always will be.

Second, it's hard to hold too much against Critchley at Villa. He wasn't making the final decisions. And if you heard Gerrard talking about how the forwards needed to provide "moments of magic", you get an understanding of how little thought he gave to tactics and the process of creating regular chances. Beale was his attacking coach and Gerrard replaced him with a tactical coach in Critchley.

Finally, the QPR job was absolutely too short a time for any coach to make an impact. The fault lies with those hiring him, given their situation, and with Critchley for showing his naivety in thinking he'd be able to implement gradual change mid season. QPR needed an immediate impact and as LA1 suggested, it was a role better suited to a manager, than a pure coach which Critchley is.

The same QPR we put six past after how shite we where most of the season with their new manager after Critch got sacked from them.

Is the AV turnaround clearly not more to do with Gerard though ? Stinks of man management issues to me and you just can’t place that at Critchleys door
