Will the Cods ever go above us again in the league?

I'll stick my neck out and say that's it as far as the Cods having the upper hand over us - I don't think they'll ever go above us again.

It's an interesting one as you can definitely tell there is a shifting in the sand. We are definitely a club on the rise in every area of the business whereas go back 12 months and under Grayson we were just a dull side and you could hear the fans disquiet despite all that Sadler was doing behind the scenes. In fact, maybe the last 12 months have been to the club's benefit as without fans in the ground, Critch has been able to get on with things without the usual matchday judgements.
On the other hand, I think Grayson is a lazy appointment for the Cods and I generally feel that whereas they were a club with momentum (partly down to the Oyston's being at Blackpool), I think they're in a bit of a slumber and Larry is not the man to get them out of that.
I suppose there'll always be the chance in this league they might nudge ahead of us again but the hope is promotion isn't too far away for us and that will settle that hopefully for some seasons to come.

If we can’t get some points against Rochdale and Burton ( if we play them), plus extra home games then we should hand the cream of the Fylde award to Fleetwood.
Hands up who had Hull City to beat Burton last week? Or Doncaster to beat the Cods last night?
Just because a team is lower in the league it doesn't mean they'll just roll over and let Blackpool win.

By your reckoning we should just be awarded the 30 points from the teams below us , because after all, we should be beating Bristol Rvs, Swindon, Wimbledon etc🤷‍♂️

Typical that Grayson put out an attacking formation of 3,5,2 did he ever do that for us? We always seemed to play defensive.

We will always be cream of the Fylde lads, we've had twice as many seasons in the top flight alone as they've had in the football league.

Flash in the pan. They'll be a distant memory soon enough.

Minor detail I know but nothing at all to do with the fact Blackpool have been in the football league for about 130 more years that they have a better record?
Honestly10/10 for that one. 👍😂

That is not a minor detail at all and is in fact part of the parcel, I'm unsure why you thought that was some witty counter point - it actually enforces it as we've sustained football league status for well over a century (not even merely sustained, spent 25 seasons of it at its peak, would have been more if not for WWII).

Our record is the reason we are the cream, no-one claims "b-b-but Liverpool have been in Europe more times that is why they've won more European Cups than Blackpool", the fact they are in Europe is why they are better. The fact we've been about 130 years, the fact we've won an FA Cup, the fact we've spent longer in the top flight than Fleetwood have been in the football league (or even existed if you count their reformation in the 90s) makes us the crème de la crème of the Fylde Coast - doesn't matter if Fleetwood arrived last week.

It's not even up for debate really, the gap in club status is gargantuan - current fortunes is a different debate but one that's natural order will be restored in the coming years.

Of course it shouldn’t be up for debate that’s why you mentioned it not me. 🙄

You will continue to argue the case for Fleetwood until the cows come home, while all the time maintaining you're not a fan.
I didn’t start the thread and I didn’t bump it today so there’s 2 clues. 😉

Anyway it gets pretty boring these days on here reading about some bloke in Ireland wanting to know if he’s hated for not, and I’am sick to death of everyone all of a sudden being an expert as a weather forecaster but the Cod threads are usually quite good especially when that idiot Allez is made to look a fool but never returns, nothing ever changes. 😂
And that’s not even mentioning the drivel that’s posted about Brexit on the other forum. 🦀🦞🐟

Feel free to put all the links up where you've said we're better than them.
I never say anyone is better than anyone as it ends up like this thread you look a fool for saying things when they come back to bite you in the bum imagine the reaction I’d get?

I’ve never done a score prediction in my life on here and I don’t do the prediction league for the same reasons.

I’ll answer any question at the end of the season when everything becomes fact who is above who and who in your words is the best.

As you keep reminding everyone there’s 20+ games left yet no one has won or lost a dam thing yet.

Quick question though before I go out will you give the Cod’s any credit at all if they finish higher than us? Infact let’s include Fylde as we’ll any credit if their promoted?

Anyway Dog walking time now. 🐕

I didn't realise games in hand = guaranteed points? We could and are capable of losing them all. Fatigued players and all that.

We may win them all but our patchy form all season suggests otherwise.
Are you seriously suggesting we'll get no more points this season? And I fancy us to pick up more than one point from three games in hand, all at home, so yes.

Moot point. Should I give credit to all our rivals or just Fleetwood?

I do give everyone credit that deserves it.

Was even giving Evo/Bolton some credit the other night, I give Burnley plenty as well for keep surviving in the greedy league, truth be known I’d give it the Nobbers should they ever get promoted.

Try it it's not difficult. 😉

I’ve never once said we won’t finish above or below Fleetwood I’ve never once said how many points we’ll end up with so where are you coming from with those comments?
When the leagues done and dusted that’s the time for bragging rights not 20+ games out.

Grayson has gone in at Fleetwood with a positive attitude and a smile on his face, if he had done the same here he may of lasted.
After the cack run they had been on he was in a good position to improve matters and his contract is only till the end of the season so needs to do well.

Stop this rubbish. Fleetwood are having their worst season in years and on the back of a run where they've won one in about 16.
We shouldn't be boasting that we are two points above them. Forget finishing above Fleetwood being an achievement, the state they are in if we don't finish above them our manager wants sacking!

I hear what you say but probably stretching a bit far to say that the manager should go if we don't finish above them.

Ironically if we do get some decent results behind us then Larry's lot could do us a few favours along the way for instance they face Charlton on Saturday and I'll be hoping for a Cods victory.
