Lots of us loved question of sport and Sue Barker, Tuffers and Dawson were great with 4 million viewing figures, all change and they have had to cancel it when viewing figures said to be down to 700,000!! Football focus the same and Sports Personality tomorrow night I can’t be bothered watch for similar reasons.

I fully agree with your post but what's with the title..."woke"? Not needed and not relevant.

Take a look at today's Guardian (no paywall). There's an article about how QoS, "a much loved institution" was allowed to wither on the vine.

Re QoS, there was an article by Rod Liddle in yesterday's Times.

Paddy McGuinness (regional) for Sue Barker (old, southern, white), which makes that two iconic BBC programmes he's now killed off.

Sam Quek (female) and Ugo Monye (black) in for Tuffnel and Dawson as team captains (male, oldish, white and southern god help them).

And they lost 80% of their audience in 2 years.

Don’t disagree with any of the article reasoning...however I wasn’t surprised it avoided the other reason the show has failed... as an avid viewer of the program... I had to google the fcuking team captains...the previous captains sporting household legends... in short the bbc moved the program away from those who watched.

Can you explain why scrapping programmes long after their sell by date is woke?

I thought you'd be delighted. They replaced a woman with a bloke.

You are aware that the BBC board is stuffed with Tory appointees, one of whom tried to influence the appointment of the new Ofcom head. The BBC that prefers Tufton Street "journalists" on question time to proper politicians, asked questions by a Tory Supporting Chair?

To be fair, it was getting ~4m viewers when Barker left, that would've put it in the BBC's top 3 or 4 today.
 
Same everywhere. Who goes on the BBC Football website anymore? Can't be arsed filtering through the women's football headlines.

It's funny how the BBC have a filter just for women's football but there is no option for the men.

I think he's a good coach Wiz, just doesn't float my boat as a Manager.

The knock on effect with his second tenure is that the heart and passion seems to have gone from the Club, and that's one main reason I would have given it to Dobbs. Those few matches he was in charge echoed Ollie's stint for me and got the crowd involved.

Ive been banging on about the fact that he desperately needs a 'Calderwood type' No 2 for absolute ages. As a Manager he was at his most effective when Calderwood had his input.It was no coincidence that our defence tightened up.

Except Calderwood left and we were OK.

Got to agree. What do an olympic gold medalist or British Lions rugby player know about top level sport. Pure tokenism.

Someone told Keir that his party has to oppose everything the government proposes so I guess that makes him lefty. He's going to get a shock when he has to solve the country's problems himself. And so is everyone else.

Shame that none of the following were deemed good enough to win it though

Jimmy Greaves
World Cup final hatrick scorer Geoff Hurst

Maybe Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham will one day reach the level needed to win the SPOTY
