Words that only snooker commentators use

"For those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green"
Ted Lowe, Pot Black circa 196970

He has cut it into the pocket
What control on the cue ball
He has screwed it back onto the black
He has played it into the pack
He knows his angles

He has cleared the table
He just has to clear the coloured balls now
He is on for a maximim break
He fouled the ball
He caught the jaws of the pocket

Tight pockets
Plant
He may have to force this in

And the announcers always play alliteration bingo. So we get the Wizard of WIshaw, the Jester from Leicester etc. I can only hope we one day get a star player from Cheshunt.

When commentating, Steve Davis once said "Jimmy (White) has just popped off to the toilet to compose himself for a final push"

A VERY OLD ONE ,BUT I REMEMBER ONE COMMENTATOR (SAYING MANY YEARS AGO ,FOR THOSE OF YOU WATCHING IN BLACK AND WHITE) (THE BLUE BALL IS JUST IN FRONT OF THE GREEN)OR SOMETHING SIMILAR ,OBVIOUSLY CANT REMEMBER EXACTLY THE COLOURS MADE ME LAUGH THAT.
