As seen already the site is now smaller than the original mockup and doesn't us the whole space.

I wonder what will become of the top part of the land now?

Aslo, as previously mentioned, what is that building in the NE corner area and why is it there. If there is a new East and NE corner, surely you wouldn't build there...
I really hope they are building a NE corner....

Having been brought up in the squalor of the Scrattin Shed, lived through our times at the foot of the table and league, the disgrace of the Odious ones ( and previous directors), to see what is happening now is little short of miraculous. I do have one concern, though.

What on earth of some of our fans going to have to moan about?
They will find something believe me. The young generation brought up with smart phones are generally an entitled lot with a few exceptions. I work with them.

I believe the biggest acheivememt in the history of our club will be to stay in the championship and never let this current disaster of a season to never happen again. I believe 100 percent we will stay up but if we did go down what will Simon’s ambitions be then . With the loss of away fan revenue if that happened I dread to think of the consequences. UTMP

Spot on 👏👏👏

Went past this morning and between the Esso garage on Central Drive and Rigby Rd traffic lights they were removing the fence boards that have been up for a few years.

I really hope they are building a NE corner....
The new structure is a new storage shed / office and canteen for the groundsman and ground staff.

The new facilities behind the north require more equipment, and as part of constructing the new pitches they have knocked down a warehouse the club had used as a storage facility for a number of years. When the East comes down there will be nowhere to store any equipment / light rigs (for the duration of that project) so the structure in the corner will allow for that.

I would imagine a North East will be a phase 2 aspect of the overall East development - which will likely incorporate the facilities the groundsman will require in the long term also.

Ahh right.

Personally I think if possible it would be better to build the NE corner first over a summer. Allowing us to keep capacity up when the actual east begins the season after, that's how I'd do it anyway. But they'd have to done a solution for equipment etc.

Just would mean we could still have aprox 10k home fans and give away fans maybe 1k whilst the east is being built.

The main thing is it's done and hopefully we expand capacity a bit too in the east alone, plus then the NE, taking us upto 20k ish ideally.

The planning application is stated to be coming soon, well, early this year, so hopefully not far off. Any idea when?

It will be very interesting to see what they've come up with, his TG plans are pretty ambitious. So I'd hope the same with the East really....

Has this been previously been missed?

"Architect Open has drawn up the plans for the development, which also include a public plaza and fan zone. The outside space will serve both the community pitches and Bloomfield Road Stadium."

Here's the pic again, we do have a 'fan zone' of sorts in the NE corner, but this is included in the plans so must be new?

Where would it go... only building is again that building in the NE?

@LA1 Seasider or anyone, any thoughts?

Will sell bacon butties and lucozade next to an outdoor screen a la Poolfoot.

Likely either to be the now (as per the plans) open space which is currently car park - an open space is all you really need for a fan zone - especially with the artificial pitches and cafe/changing rooms being built too. A few container style food / drink outlets, some outdoor seating and a marquee and you’ve got a fan zone tbh.

Or they could be referring to something contained within the phase 2 plans - The East.

I reckon the land to the north of the full size grass pitch (which was initially earmarked to be part of the community development) is being held back by the council (who own it all and are leading BFCCT the pitch land) and will likely be used for either more housing or for relocating business premises too (the garage ?) when phase 2 begins and swathes of land needs clearing for the East and the rest of the sports village*

Just speculation by me though in that regards - although it would make sense.

It will be council owned land. Wether club buys it or rents it is no real issue. A partnership with the council is more worrying.

Will it not mirror the West ? if so how many seats in the West ?
Certainly at the start of the proposals before any stand was built the East was never going to be the height of the West because of the house behind it.

But as time has moved on and we are now in partnership with the council perhaps with the aid of compulsory purchase orders that is no longer the case?

I’d suspect Sadler maybe holding off for now to see which division we will be in next season
This is a Council issue though, the 1st letter has gone out and another to follow. I'm sure they'll be notified once something is happening in plenty of time.

Last we heard from SS all is going ahead so have to stick with that.

Having a good or bad season shouldn't affect long term planning, as it takes years to get these things going.

If we fail to do it because we went down and came back up in a year or 2, we'd be bemoaning the lack of planning and have a 3 sided stadium probably.

It has to happen.

Doesn’t seem to me that people are being kept in limbo, more like they don’t like the information that they have been given.
