They gave advice we should go into lockdown in September and December and it was initially ignored.

The JCVI gave no such advice.

AFAIK no other scientific advisory body gave such advice either, beyond one poorly phrased line in a minute from one SAGE meeting that appears to be at odds with the mixed advice actually given to the government.

The same applies to the India red list question, there was no advice that I know of that they should be moved to a red list at the time.
