Theres been a call from FIFA's chief of global development (a certain Mr Wenger) to stage the World Cup and European Championships every 2 years, and in doing so getting rid of the likes of The Nations League. Also suggested as part of his plan is the lumping together the qualifying matches for the championships into one or two blocks during the year to reduce international breaks....
Obviously international breaks havent bothered us too much in more recent years, but I think they are a pain in the Arsene in the Premier League and Championship.... so i'm all for that....
I've never really got to like or sometimes even understand the Nations League so wouldnt miss that at all...
But the whole idea of The World Cup and Euro's every two years?... Hmm.... Isnt the fact that theres so long between the tournaments part of what makes them special?
