Recovered well have Afghanistan after loosing it halfway through their 50 overs I didn’t think they’d get to 277 and still 2 overs to go.

And as I write Curran on his way back to the pavilion.
Surely that’s curtains now still not got half the runs required yet and 6 wickets down. 😫
 
This is hugely embarrassing. Yes Afghanistan have some good players but they are minnows in this competition. England have been utterly dreadful from the very beginning of this match.

They’re less than minnows. In world cups they have played 15 & lost 14. Before today that is .🤬

I don't follow the game closely enough but it seems like arrogance to pick players like Stokes who are injured and can't contribute to the group stages.

Is it that we lack experience at 50 over ODi's or we just pick our favourites?

No. Doesn't even play the short form anymore. Just pulled in by his mate Buttler. Why Salt is not opening the batting is a mystery too.
 
Looks like South Africa are about to lose to a similar embarrassing defeat like we did.

Chasing a target of 245 they are currently 154/8 so need another 93 from 55 balls.
 
England have been quite rightly lauded for playing a very attacking game in both he long and short format of the game and it started with Eoin Morgan taking our white ball team to World Champions and as of this moment we are still 20 and 50 over kings.

What I'm seeing right now is a hesitant side not sure whether to attack in the same vein that Eoin's side used to, you only have to look at some of the dismissals in all three games so far to see that, Malan seemingly not sure whether to stick or twist v Afghanistan and tamely spooning the ball to cover sums it up, that delivery should have been lofted over cover for four.

We are now in a position where a win v SA has got to happen, if we go 1-3 we're booking flights back to Blighty so the pressure is on, FFS lads lets get back attacking cricket and giving it a go.
