World Kindness Day

There's a lot of hatred and vitriol on this site. A small act of kindness can ignite a chain reaction of positivity. How about celebrating today with a wave of compassion. #WorldKindnessDay

What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Not today but recently. I was at a garden centre looking at greetings cards when a young lady asked me to help her read a card because she was dyslexic. It was a very elaborate birthday card with ‘mum’ on it. We chatted a bit then went our separate ways. When I went to the till to pay for my things, she was ahead of me and being served. I heard her asking how much the card was and then saying that she’d have to leave it because it was too expensive so I interrupted and asked her if she would mind if I bought it for her. She looked a bit nonplussed but agreed.

When I got outside she was wailing for me and seemed really upset, she asked why I had done what I’d done and that nobody had ever done anything like that for her before. I said that our mums are special and I wanted her to be able to give her a special card. She then told me that her mum was very ill with skin cancer and thats why my act of kindness (her words) had meant so much to her. We had a hug and went our separate ways..,

That's great TT. It's a fantastic feeling to do something like that and then realise how much it means to the recipient. If we could all do just one small favour each day for a stranger the effect would be huge.

I’m a big smiler. I went into Cleveleys this morning, got out of my car, and smiled at the lady getting into her car across the road.
She smiled back and said ‘ oh how nice, it’s not often you see people smile these days.’

What a shame it is that a smile gets noticed because it isn’t the norm 😳

TT has set the bar wonderfully high 🥰

Happy world kindness day ❤️

Nice thread.

Absolutely love this, because we never know other people's situations. We can never know what an impact, even the smallest child in act of kindness can have on people. I know in my own life I've experienced that particularly when I lost my parents and hopefully I've been able to make other people's lives a little brighter by repaying those acts of kindness to others

Will you come and read me the feature cards of 95" televisions in Curry's next Tuesday please?

Does this kindness extend to Suella?
No, but it helped out 'lost in the wilderness' Mr D Cameron (he's run out of memoir anechdotes) and like people in Cleveleys, is smiling like a Cleveleys Kat, at his £154K new salary plus expenses e.g free London accommodation, Public posh car, office and staff expenses etc

As he's Not an elected MP, he'll have to be given a peerage which entitles him to £340 a day if he turns up there for work

And finally, because his CV shows he was a former PM, he already gets an index linked pension (already payable) of £108K /annum

He didn't have to do an interview, pass any tests or secure any qualifications. Clearly, democracy in action, how Kind of Rich Rishi

The best bit is you and I pay for it all - now that is Kindness of the (mugs) in the UK

This so nearly became a nice thread about kindness. Maybe reflect on what you're saying.
