The passing stats prove the OP is on the right track to be honest
Your correct yesterday's performance was better than the pathetic game against them at home.I might get shot down for this, but that was much better than our performance at home against the same opposition in December. That was an utterly humiliating 3 0 defeat. Yesterday, if the header from Yates goes in, or the disallowed goal stands, it's a different game.
We weren't great, but to say it's the worst in 40 years totally overhyped it.
Well thank god for that then.I might get shot down for this, but that was much better than our performance at home against the same opposition in December. That was an utterly humiliating 3 0 defeat. Yesterday, if the header from Yates goes in, or the disallowed goal stands, it's a different game.

I did go to Barnet for a lunchtime k/o play off semi final against Barnet at Underhill in 1992……for a ticket easy for tgat not even sure I didn’t POTG ️#87Neither could I as it was oversubscribed by about 50,000
I came away feeling a bit down in the dumps (a lot down in the dumps to be fair) about the result, but like you, I didn’t think it was a terrible performance (all things considered) and we did create some good chances…I might get shot down for this, but that was much better than our performance at home against the same opposition in December. That was an utterly humiliating 3 0 defeat. Yesterday, if the header from Yates goes in, or the disallowed goal stands, it's a different game.

You don’t half talk some Shit. Or only going to the odd away game. But hey you get what you wish for, we are doomed
Who’s threatening who?Not even as bad as the spelling on the threat title.
I was. Great trip, apart from the match.Or Derby away last season
Our season isn't determined by games at Middlesbrough away. Tuesday and Saturday will be far more indicative.Well thank god for that then.
I was getting worried for a second about how shit we are.
He's certainly not a nobber and does about 20 away games a season and has done for the 30 years or so that I've known him forNobber alert
We did, Darren Bradshaw put us in front remember it well. Was that the game on NYD in the 90s?? Think we even went 1-0 up in that game lol
He’s a barm pot thoughHe's certainly not a nobber and does about 20 away games a season and has done for the 30 years or so that I've known him for
All the stats tell a different story mateIt’s not even the worst performance this season to be honest.
I couldn’t give a fuck about stats.. We outplayed Swansea last season with just over 20% possession … I’d rather just go off my own eyesight. All the stats tell a different story mate
80% possession when it's between the keeper and the centre halves in their own area means fuck all.I couldn’t give a fuck about stats.. We outplayed Swansea last season with just over 20% possession … I’d rather just go off my own eyesight.
No but only managing to land about 80 successful passes is piss poor in a game of football80% possession when it's between the keeper and the centre halves in their own area means fuck all.
Watching the ITV EFL programme there were at least 5 goals conceded where the keeper and the defence faffed about. Teams aren't good enough. Even Villa conceded at the top level.
There’s an article somewhere that did an analysis of McCarthy and how he was winning games and being successful. It was something of an enigma because his teams have consistently been at the very bottom end of the pass completion stats. No but only managing to land about 80 successful passes is piss poor in a game of football
True enough. I don't think enough credit has been given to Boro though. They are a good side. Sometimes you have to admit that.No but only managing to land about 80 successful passes is piss poor in a game of football
I was at a New Year's Eve party that night in Birmingham. Somehow the DJ got wind that there was a seasider in the house and played D Ream - Things can only get better. My 40th birthday!! 31 12 94. How can I forget!!
Take it you didn’t go to Rotherham earlier in the season? But hey you get what you wish for, we are doomed

Or Preston away, last season? But hey you get what you wish for, we are doomed
To be honest though mate the whole McCarthy type of football is shite to watchThere’s an article somewhere that did an analysis of McCarthy and how he was winning games and being successful. I think you need to pull your head out of those silly spreadsheets mate and start watching some real football
This is proper English Football … Just enjoy it for what it is, and watch the results start to turn our way
We’ll be back to that attacking, exciting (losing) football that you like before you know it
It was our own fault for scoring first. I wonder if the FA ever looked at that video when they appointed Sam Allardyce?Birmingham 7 Blackpool 1
It’s not pretty, but surely we’ve got to have a go at home!!To be honest though mate the whole McCarthy type of football is shite to watch
I've never been a fan of just booting the ball out or whacking it to the half way line and just playing for territory and set pieces like a fcuking egg chaser
At least some of the other dinosaur types try and score goals Fat Sam being a good example of a 442 or 4411 man who gets the ball wide and into the box
McCarthy is all about safety and not taking risks with men behind the ball
It's fcuking garbage
It's not just about stats either but teams who can't keep the ball and just give it away all the time like we did on Saturday are just set up to fail
I'm really hoping it was a one off as I'm making a right effort to come over to Blackpool tomorrow evening to watch us
I hope you are rightWe played to keep it tight away from home and we did it well until they scored a great goal, then we had our own chances and it could of been very different.
No panic at all from me, we didn't play well but still caused a good team problems. Next up are two very important games and I fancy us to go unbeaten through those and pick up the all important win that will kickstart us.
My one concern was the team selection, I have never thought Yates and Lavery work together and we've got Bowler back and he was largely anonymous so we need to get him where he can influence the game.
Yes he was. We went 1 0 up with an early Bradshaw goal. Think that annoyed them.I was at a New Year's Eve party that night in Birmingham. Somehow the DJ got wind that there was a seasider in the house and played D Ream - Things can only get better.
If I recall correctly Melvin Capleton was in goal that day
Lavery was completely anonymous. I agree that they just don't work as a pair.We played to keep it tight away from home and we did it well until they scored a great goal, then we had our own chances and it could of been very different.

The trouble is we really don’t have time for Big Mick to be learning things that have been obvious for the last couple of seasons.Lavery was completely anonymous. I agree that they just don't work as a pair.
Nothing will ever be as bad as Preston away last seasonBut hey you get what you wish for, we are doomed
I’ll give you that oneNothing will ever be as bad as Preston away last season
Both, as has been stated I go to more or less every away gameOr Preston away, last season?
