Would this be the best squad we’ve had to get relegated?

Good squad, poor management / styles to suit the players

However, had we have scored today we'd be 4th from bottom and all be in a happier place

Possibly. I'm not really sure how you drop down a division so dramatically without something being awry.

The danger is if we go down, other Champ teams will cherry pick some of our better players to bolster their squad, not because they're world beaters but decent options. The loanees depart too of course.
Thinking Jerry, Marv, Connolly, Husband, poss Lyons, Grimmy, JG.
And what would we be left with - a derelict bunch destined for Div 2 - unless some smart recruitment is lined up?
Do we think that's in the pipeline ........er, doubt it at the moment.

We are bottom of the table after 29 games. That's more than enough to show what quality each club has, and I don't agree with the notion we have a good squad. We have one or two good players, but are woefully short in some areas, namely midfield. Still. After over two years of nothing being done about it.
We now have Stewart, Bridcutt and Trybull on the treatment table costing us money. How many more midfielders with poor injury records are we going to sign before we realise we're pissing money up the wall, and actually getting a player with a good appearance record over the line, even if he costs more than we really want to pay, is much more cost effective? Are we ever going to learn this very easy and obvious lesson? I have my doubts.
