Would you buy a signed shirt from the boycott era for charity?

In a bit of a predicament here. A friend of mine (from down south not around here) is raising some money for a little girl with Leukemia and has a contact at Blackpool from the boycott era. He's got in touch with a player he knows that played for us in 2016-2017 season and has managed to get a signed shirt. Obviously I didn't attend any home games/cup/wembley games during the boycott and had no affinity to the team really. I feel bad saying no when it's a good cause so maybe I should just donate and sack the shirt. Thoughts?

our beef was with the owners NOT the players seeing as nothing would go to the stains then yes I would buy it still a piece of our history

Players and Gary Bowyer did there best for the club in the boycott years, and were responsible for us being higher up the football pyramid when sold. I am pretty sure they had a low opinion of Oyston and cannot remember any statements of support for him unlike previous managers.
We stopped money going into the club and the players were taking it out so Oyston lost out big time.
A lot of posters followed the club away but not at home, so I am sure they would not agree with these players being vilified

A well meaning friend bought me a tp? Shirt during the boycott years as a birthday present. I don’t wear it as you’d imagine 😬

As for the raffle, nowt to do with the O’s so I’d buy a ticket certainly. Little girl with leukaemia too, that’s what’s important.👍

I would support the Charity anyway by buying a ticket.

If I won it I’d try to get Valerie Belokon and Andrew Green (doubt Marcus Smith would/could) and donate it to The Armfield Clubs War Room.🧡🧡🧡

Sounds like a good cause. I'm not clear from your post, how he is using the shirt to raise money. If it is a raffle, and we can somehow participate online , I'd happily contribute. If I win the shirt , I could use it to clean my car.
No disrespect to the players at the time , they were just earning a living. But every time I see a TP or Village Idiot shirt, it makes my blood boil.

I streamed every game I could on those dodgy sites.

sorry I wasn't clear. Tomorrow Three Bridges Football Club are hosting a small charity game and he's doing an auction afterwards for several items of signed memorabilia from Arsenal, Brighton, Newcastle, Man Utd etc. So I messaged on the off chance he could get a Blackpool shirt and I'd send a decent donation for what is obviously a worthy cause. He said he knew someone and got back to me but obviously I didn't realise it would be from the boycott era. Obviously I'll still donate but was a bit torn about whether to accept the shirt or not.

This is the link for the little girl anyway https://gofund.me/11925770

Hi all, as most of you are fully aware, there is a charity football match down at Three Bridges FC this Friday night, 1945 kick off.
After the game there will be an auction in the clubhouse for the following items.
Lewis Dunks match worn signed football boots.
Adam Lallanas match worn football boots.
Gabriel Martenellis match worn signed football boots.
Newcastle United signed shirt.
Brighton FC signed shirt.
Arsenal FC signed shirt.
A 4 ball @ The Wisley, playing with European Tour player Toby Tree.
And more.
Please messaged me a maximum amount (if you can’t attend Friday) you would be willing to pay for anything you would be willing to bid for.
Thanks
Callum

Here's an idea: buy the shirt at the auction but donate it to one of those football shirts for Africa charities. Then two charities win.

I have to confess it does have the same effect on me.
I think any fan who wore a shirt at the time not only (by their own personal choice which they were totally entitled to do) “rubbed NAPMers noses in it” in the fact they were still attending games, when NAPMers were making the “ultimate sacrifice” of not watching OUR beloved club play.

That said NAPMers must be “gracious” to those that did go to games, the war is over, the objective of a “Better BFC” for our future generations has been achieved, massively thanks to Valeri Belokon and Simon Sadler.

The team & playing staff under Critch’s management and Simons Custodianship has created a “United Blackpool Family” with comparatively massive away followings and a volume of support that is envied by most of not all other clubs.

As this post is about a charity, I’d happily donate to it but I would give the organisers the money for a few raffle tickets but politely decline being given my ticket if it was for a for what I always remember as a “traitors shirt”.

Mushrooms like NAPMers should leave the past behind and move on TOGETHER with positivity.
