Nah he's a Yorkshire lad ! After us spent 2/3 years at PNE before spending the majority of his career at Bradford City.

He wasn't from the other end of the M55 , he was from Beverley in Yorkshire, and we signed him from a Hull junior club . He did later play for Preston though .

Obviously he did well last season in the division below, but can he do it one division higher and for a different team. Doyle couldn't stop scoring for Swindon, but struggled at Bradford, his parent club! So all will be revealed.

Transfer window doesn't stop transfers happening, contracts being drawn up and signed etc - all it is is a registration window. The window is irrelevant when we're not playing again until it's open.
Quite a few'big' clubs have made and announced signings this season outside of the transfer window - Chelsea did it with Kai Havertz and the lad from Ajax.
