Yates

If I were Jerry (and being his age) and heard the names of team sniffing round ..... I'd feel this is the right time for a move.

We can't have any complaints, he's put a. good shift in for the Pool.

Unfortunately contracts are not worth the paper they're written on in football.
Don't know where all this is coming from - it's anything but the voice of reason. He is under contract, and unless the club receive an offer which is acceptable to them, he stays... end of. Agree that's he's put in a good shift by the way.

When a player leaves they don't get the fee. They get increased wages and a signing on fee with the new club.

See what happens when you 'keep' a player to his contract.

Wake up dude.
Really don't understand what you're on about.

You said the player and agent have all the cards in these situations, which they don't.

He signed a contract until 2025, if he is to move it will be because we sanctioned the move.

If we refuse to sanction a move because the offering club is giving us a below value rate future players and agents will understand.

Balls.

If he’s going, get him sold now and get the cash properly reinvested in to some good, young players. None of this mincing around like last year with Bowler.

If we’re going to adopt a decent model, we can’t be farting around all window, every window dithering over what to do.

So get him sold now at a price the club don't want to accept! Do you really believe that's the answer? He's under contract and there's no need to panic. Sell him at the right price and nothing less otherwise he stays.

Just wanted to point out that the only club that have officially bid for Yates (per The Sun) was Leicester with a 2.5m bid which was of course rejected.

They also said that Coventry, Luton, Bristol City, and Ipswich were interested, but haven't made bids.

There has been NO credible reporting from anyone regarding Coventry having made a recent bid.

Only thing I could find was this Tweet from an apparent Coventry City ITKer (who also knew that Simms was signing for Coventry a week before) claiming that Yates was coming their way so take that with a massive grain of salt.

He may well join but we should be winning either way. Keep him and we keep a great player who can help get us up. Sell him and we should be reinvesting hopefully the majority of it in a few quality attacking players, which will help us try and go up.
