36th anniversary of the greatest goal scored at Bloomfield Road?
What made it even better is he headed my way to the West paddock to celebrate!
Chesterfield towards the south.36th anniversary of the greatest goal scored at Bloomfield Road?
Thanks for filling in some of the gaps in my memory. Yes Crainie was the young Scottish winger on loan. It’s a great shame the game wasn’t filmed. In fact I don’t think I recall ever seeing highlights from any game of that glorious season.PNE, we must have been stood about a yard apart!
We had a winger, think he might have been a loan, maybe Wolves, Danny Crainie was he called? He was in acres of space on the wing when Eamonn turned. Me and my mate were screaming, wide Eamonn, Crainie, wide, FFS Eamonn wide, give it Eamonn, yyyyeessssss.
He ran over to in front of us. Someone got out of the West and hugged him (wasn't me).
Now of course everyone would get to see it, there'd be mobile footage uploaded. Back then, all you could say was that you were lucky to be there. One of the best goals I've seen live.
I remember Willis having a shocker. Blew his whistle every 30 seconds. The game was very scrappy until O Keefe's goal. Not the last goal he scored where he cut in from the left and just hit it. Great signingWhat a strike that was.
Peter Willis (the ref who sent Moran off at Wembley) was giving everything to Chesterfield and O'Keefe cut in from the left attacking the south stand and larruped it in the top bin. Bloomfield rd erupted. Get in!!!
Try disallowing that you f#$@@#$ T##$.
