The odd thing is I could name the vast majority of that City team but couldn't tell you who are the current holders of the Cup.I'll pick something out of the ether and say Man City, 1969 v Leicester.

Correct! WHU v Fulham in 1975. I went to that final as my brother-in-law used to play with Alan Taylor at Morecambe.....who then happened to score the two winning goals.I'm guessing Fulham vs Wet Spam mid 70's.
Vaguely remember one of those two fielding 11 Englishman. Begrudgingly I'll go WHU.
Not sure it's odd, I could give you 7 or 8 players out of most 80s top flight teams in any season. Even those in division 2 (the championship now). The odd thing is I could name the vast majority of that City team but couldn't tell you who are the current holders of the Cup.
Remember a big thing being made of it being an all London affair & how many Londoners were involved yet as you pointed out Taylor the double goal scorer was a northerner, Rochdale I think.Correct!
