Suns: Hoolahan, Ainscow, Morris, Bamber, McCewan (spelling?)

Waiters
Armfield
Gratrix

Hughes

Ball
Green
Perry
Mudie
Mortensen

Superb international `keeper and top notch defence including one voted best right back in the world in 1962,Dazzling wingers ,one the greatest of all time and a midfield of mind boggling and hugely varied skills including according to Geoff Hurst the best player on the pitch in the 1966 World Cup Final and with two strikers who were quite exceptional goal scorers , Mudie perhaps at his goal scoring peak for only around a couple of quite outstandingly prolific seasons while Morty was a phenomenal goal scorer for many years for both `pool and England.

All the above were internationals, 8 English and 2 Scottish (Mudie and Green), barring Gratrix who certainly should have been if he had not apparently fallen out with Walter Winterbottom the England manager when in the international Squad.

Subs

West*
Shimwell*
Hart
James*
Wright
Adam*
Suddick
Hoolahan*
Hutchison*
Charnley*
Stewart*

* all starred were internationals though Wright I think was in an England squad but never actually capped.

When you look at our present incumbents representing our beloved `pool sadly they just pale into total insignificance compared to any of the 22 greats listed above whose compilation was for me a labour of love allied to great nostalgia.
