Your first favourite non Blackpool player

Bryan Douglas t'Rovers & England.
When I was eleven we moved to Gt Harwood. Funny, I don't remember doing anything wrong? My dad worked on Saturday so we never went to Blackpool for years. Eventually we moved to Blackburn (God I must have been really bad) and so ended up going to Ewood with my school mates. Rovers had a decent side then Newton. Clayton, Pickering etc but little Bryan Douglas caught my eye. Tiny man, with twinkling feet, pacy dribbler.
T'rovers were the first team i saw at Bloomfield Rd, Bryan Douglas played in that game. Happy days.

Alfredo Di Stefano. Fantastic player in that great Real Madrid side of the 60’s alongside, Puskas, Gento, Santamaria, first Continental team I was obsessed by!

Anybody who played for Brazil and George Best.
Wouldn’t argue with that, loved Pele and all the Brazilian players in the 60’s, mesmerising football to watch, so different to what we were watching at home. Couldn’t wait to see Best on MOTD back then, alas he pissed away what should have been a phenomenal career.😞

Weirdly Gary Bailey from Man Utd!! Always wanted to be a keeper and he seemed young, quite trendy and a decent keeper.

When i was a young lad and used to go to the molineux with my mate (never supported them),but used to like Derek Duggan, big gangling centre forward who knew where the goal was.

Brian Flynn of Burnley. Then I grew up and worried when he nearly became our manager!

Probably Colin Harvey, in the Everton midfield of Ball-Kendall-Harvey who won the opening match of the 1969-70 season away at Highbury in the season they won the League. That was my very first Div 1 match as a spectator, I had turned down a few others because they clashed with my junior football fixtures.

Ps Jan Molby, never looked like a footballer but what a talent, was probably Liverpool's best passer in their star studded team
