Your happy place

South Lakes.
Love it there. On a nice day it’s bliss.

Went for a couple of trips up there on my most recent week off and stayed until late. At this time of year it doesn’t go dark until after 9.30pm and you lose the crowds later on. We were the only people at Tarn Hows and the roads were empty travelling back to Blackpool.

River 2 beach in Freetown Sierra Leone with a plate of freshly caught lobster on my plate. Nobody to be seen apart from the chef and the Mrs.

Was talking to a woman in Chipping on Friday who also has a place in Hawaii.

Closest I’ve been to Hawaii is my sunglasses.

Too many places I/we love.
Loved the SW coast of England for years.
I found out, doing family history, that my maternal G/G parents were from Cornwall Male side) and Devon, female side.
Never met my G/Pa unfortunately. In fact I never met either G/Pa.
Strange really as I have 2 G/G/sons. oldest 14 this year. (lovely lad).

Kirkham grafting on antique furniture with the radio on, if it’s good weather working in the yard at the front of my workshop putting a lot of the money away to pay for my backpack trip in India for 3 or 4 weeks July/ August, going down south to Kerala, been to the north & middle so may bump into Larry as he’s managing down there!
I’ll miss the start of the season but I’ll give some other poor soul my season ticket ( if it’s the same start we had under the critch as last time)

Good to find a like- minded soul. I have sailed out of Kaikoura, NZ several times and taken a pelagic trip out of Cape Town. Nothing like the sight and sound of albatrosses and petrels feeding on the chum.
I've been out from Simonstown on pelagics. Also Valparaiso and Arica in Chile, and several times on the Scilly pelagics which are as good as it gets in the UK. Never yet been off NZ but I hope to make it one day. Nothing beats being out there on the ocean 👍
