Your time is running out Neil...

With 10 mins to go, nothing to lose, it looks like the players had decided to jettison Critchley's turgid approach and throw the kitchen sink at them. It was an exciting period when we could have scored 2 or 3. Think Critchley has lost the dressing room. If this continues Sadler should pot him. Sorry Neil, nice fella and all that. 😟

From what I saw on ifollow,it was NC telling players to push on. It is possible and just as likely that this was simply NC telling the players to push forward with nothing to lose. Its not like we are getting thumped every week (bar the Ipswich game) and im not seeing him as having lost the changing room.

As a result of this I'm sure we will see us getting the ball forward more quickly in future. Not necessarily hoofing it upfront, but less of the tippy-tapping around in defence and midfield allowing the opponents time to get back in position. We have, after all, seen enough teams do it to us. 😡

The other thing we might learn is to play with more fire, like we did when we were down to nine. We ought to be starting like that instead of waiting until we've got ourselves into a mess. Staying calm and passing the ball around to win the possession stats has an air of superiority about it. "Look how good we are at passing!" It's like that's the top priority for the players. Unfortunately, the only stat that counts is "goals for" being higher than "goals against".

We went down to 10 and then 9 with Critch waving his arms frantically telling them to launch it forwards, no point it passing about when 2 men short. They followed his instructions and deserved something from the game.

He should have been waving his arms and telling them to get forward when we still had a full compliment. Anything would have been better than constantly passing sideways and 30/40 yards backwards to no avail.

Anyone surprised that Maxwell wasn't sent up considering we only had 9 players on the pitch?!
