Youth team vs Bolton

HT
0-0.
Quite a physical battle with few chances.
Very little to choose between the two sides.

48mins.
Bolton take the lead with a bit of poor defending from a corner. Now where have I seen that before?

Looking forward to your match report @Insider. There seemed to be a few new names in there today to go with the 2nd years who I presume will be released soon?

Just for you a brief report.
2 names in the squad I didn't recognise today.
Ezra Amadi-Emina a very tall, gangly CB who I'm guessing is an u/16 possibly on trial. Plenty of growing in him.
Taylor Bowen who is a striker, again possibly a trialist.
Both came on in the 2nd half.
Bolton have been a bit of a bogey team this season and so it turned out again.
They are a fairly big and physical team although their captain was probably the smallest player on the pitch.
The Pool team included Tyler Hill at LB returning from injury.
The mid-field anchor men were Luke Byrom and Zak Littler trying to fill the boots of Tayt Trusty and Luke Mariette who have excelled when they have played together. They are a tough act to follow.
Luke did play for 60 minutes but looked to be playing alot further forward and was taken off on 60 minutes because I think he will be in Curzon's squad on Monday.
The first half was a physical battle with very few chances created by either side under the watchful eye of Ian Evatt who was looking on from the touchline before taking first team training.
Bolton scored early in the second half from a corner and whilst I'm not certain I think it might have been an o.g.
TBH it was one way traffic from then on and the 2nd goal wasn't long in coming.
Ciaran Donnelly mentioned the other week how, for him, individual performances are more important than results. There were 4 or 5 starters today who are still looking for pro-contracts (at least they haven't been announced if they've been told). It must be the toughest job in football telling an 18yr old that they are being released.
I'd be surprised if they all get contracts.
So not a lot to learn today. The youth team galacticos from early season and FA Youth Cup success are all out on loan or injured.
New recruits are being scouted and signed up for scholarships for next year.
Over the 5/6 years I've been watching the u/18s though I'd say this group overall is the strongest squad.
We've had some good indivduals in previous years but it's fair comment that they aren't breaking through into league football at Blackpool or elsewhere.
We desperately need the new training ground up and running so the Academy can push on and fulfill the Board's ambition of #5for25.

Yes it must be a difficult job, but i suppose thats football. They all seem to have had good spells throughout the two years, and as you say, we dont know what they have been told so far.
