Youth team vs Cods

Went down to Poolfoot about three years ago when our youth team played there. Saw this nippy young lad playing down the left wing, small in stature but had their full back on toast all game.Checked the team sheet for his number and confirmed with Insider who told me it was Rob Apter. Im working tomorrow morning otherwise id be down there. Nice setup on a Saturday morning down there, loads of kids games going on and fun stuff for the kids and food/drink available. Real nice buzz, something I hope we can replicate when we get our own place.

So when we get Wembley in the play offs you won't be wearing a shirt then?
And I'll be wearing a scarf at Poolfoot later because it's cold not just because I'm old. 😂
Careful Insey if it’s a Tangerine scarf only I’ve heard those Cod heads who were on that video last week are out on the prowl, And they've got all lampposts manned in case a certain poster turns up.

Just arrived in time to see the first goal conditions terrible. 💦🌊☔

Cods 0 Pool 1

Don’t ask me who scored as I was still walking towards the pitch when the goal went in.

Pool not posting their team, ahead of the FA Youth cup tie this week. I wonder why? Get the feeling they’ve gone strong

Unfortunately like insey I haven’t got a clue who’s playing fans no names on shirts doesn’t help.

I do know one thing though wind getting even stronger.💨💨

0-2 following a corner easy tap In following a saved header.

Pool. paying against a very strong head wind as well.

Well that’s it from me.

Dog to walk and I’am in hospitality this afternoon so it’s an early one from me.

15 mins into second half still 0-2 wind is really spoiling it.

Over to Insey. 🥶💨

I went down, missed the first goal, saw the 2nd and then left at half time. Too bloody cold and wet! Didn't look that much between the 2 teams in what I saw but the game was spoilt by the wind. Poolfoot very impressive and it's annoying that we are so far behind them in this respect. It'll take years.

Miles behind and beat them 😁

Chester beat Southport 5-0 today. One Chester fan is saying Apter is the best player they've had for a long time. One negative from this, the new defender we signed from Southport was playing.

The conditions were so bad today that it was a real struggle to play any quality football, take the win and 3 points and hopefully put on a show in better conditions v Newcastle on Wednesday! Unbeaten since October.. Some going. UTMP. 👍💪🍊

Come

Come on we like a report! Who was good etc? Any breaking in to this 5 for 25?
Stop being so impatient. I left home before 9.00am and didn't get back until nearly 10 hrs later.
Like @Sea sea seasiders says the conditions were so bad today I don't think even Callum (the youth team reporter) turned up 😉.
So first thing to say well done to all 30+ squad members from both teams for actually making a game of it.
Blackpool's squad saw the return of Jack Moore, Alex McLachlan, Michael Fitzgerald and Prince Yelegon from their respective loans presumably to get to know one another before Wednedsays FA Youth Cup 5th round game against Newcastle. (Not sure where Tayt Trusty was??)
Pool scored in the first couple of minutes as a result (allegedly) of a goal keeping error, a scramble but not sure who actually scored. Arnold Matshazi definitely got the 2nd. Both goals were scored uphill against the hurricane force wind in the first half.
The second half saw 4 Pool changes resting and bringing on probable starters for Wednesday.
It was good to see a couple more Blackpool fans there than usual (not including parents) and even a member of the BFC board.
Also good to see that former Cod, Steve Macauley, has joined the BFC academy set up as a physio.
Looking forward to Wednesday. It will be an interesting challenge.

Sorry! Take it as a compliment that i trust your judgement! Was hoping for a comment like someone was class and is definitely our next pro!

I think the next pro will be Jake Daniels.
In the starting line-up today (and the last few games) was Tyler Hill (son of Matt, brother of James) who is an u/16 and is developing nicely. One to watch.
Not sure but I also think Johnson Opawale, who has being playing at CB, is also an u/16. He's another that looks very comfortable playing above his age level.
Arnold Matshazi has upped his game recently, has been scoring goals, in an effort to get a contract.
Unsung heros are Will Squires at CB and Joe Strawn in mid-field.
James Harrison is perhaps the last one to mention and he's been another regular starter in the last few games. You never get anything other than 100% from James and he to will be desperate to get a contract.
Fortunately I don't get the job of awarding contracts. Whilst I'm happy to give praise I'm not got going come on here and openly criticise any of these aspiring young footballers.
