A chance to watch 2 and a half games tomorrow.
The u/17s play Accy at 10.00 and the u/19s at 11.00 at Accrington's, "Stanley Sports Hub".
Then off to Bloomfield Rd for the grown ups.
I'm still puzzled why we describe this as an under 19 team when they are playing an u/18 League match, although I am aware of the "rule of 3", but it's great for a lowly Cat 3 Academy to be putting 2 teams out.
The Youth team still haven't played a game at home so it will be interesting to see what happens next Saturday (18 Sep) when there is a home fixture against Morecambe scheduled.

Real shame about Stanley Park Arena. It would in theory be a great location to see the youth and first teams, within walking distance of each other.

Do you remember the old BGS sports days there Wiz?

I remember Town Sports Day with all inter school stuff at The Oval but I don't recall BGS having Sports Day there. Maybe it was after my time or I've just forgotten.

Aye sorry I was meaning Wiz, Wizaard as he was at BGS too! 😊 my bad wording.

A mate and I got caught on a boat in the lake one year by the headmaster, Mr Rigby.

You doing a report this week.
A few words on the u/18 game.
The game was played on a very short pile 4G pitch which made it quite tricky keeping your feet.
Pool had three 1st year pro's in the starting line-up, Ryan Grant, Sky Sinclair and Charlie Monks. Johnny Johnston and Luke Mariette who are also on pro-contracts started. It was chalk and cheese from the last game I saw at Salford.
Pool dominated today's game from start to finish and the only criticism from a fine all round team performance was the number of chances missed.
The team lined-up 4-4-2 which seems to be the Club formation of choice. The only oddity is Jack Moore, who featured in 1st team pre-season games at RB, playing at LB. He's a good player and well thought so it's a shame he couldn't play in his natural position but Sky Sinclair got that slot today. Hat-trick hero Jake Daniels from the mid-week Claret Cup game was up front with Johnny Johnston. Both got on the score sheet. Johnston is another player in the mold of Yates and Lavery.
An entertaining game spoilt by having to watch through a fence.

Anyone look any good? MOTM?
It was a team performance just like the big boys.
I don't like singling out players at this level, good or bad.
I will mention Ryan Grant though because as surprised as I was that he got a pro-contract after watching him at Salford I thought he looked very assured today.
