YouTube adblockers

YouTube (I suppose reasonably) won't allow access if you use an ad blocker. The problem that I have encountered is that altough I think I have turned off everything I can think of, including my VPN, it still says I am using one 🤔 Any thoughts?

It happened to me a couple of weeks ago and I set AdBlocker to allow YouTube ads. However this morning it has now come back with the no ad-block message despite that. I clicked on Not using an ad blocker? Report issue, which goes nowhere!! So far no problem on my Tablet which runs the Brave browser which seems to have an ad-blocker built in.

Yes. I can access on my phone but not my Chromebook

I think I sussed it by turning it off like they say and getting what you want on then turning it back on.
After a few times, it's fine again but don't refresh when you turn it back on.

I use chrome but i do subscribe to ad block plus.

The irony of the biggest copyright infringers in history objecting to ad blockers is off the scale. I block the ads just fine thanks.

Why are YouTube copyright infingers?

Users of the platform might infringe copyright but I'd say YouTube do a good job of removing it.

That's an err... interesting point of view I suppose and so wildly wrong it's almost impossible to argue against. Each to their own opinion I suppose.

Similar experience here, when ad blockers are noticed, & U toob stops my access, I switch them off to continue, then switch them on again, straight away, & it seems to be ok again for a few weeks.. I use Ad Guard & Ad Block Plus (both free versions)

Sadly I dont seem able to stop the ads when watching U Tube on my TV? any ideas? aint paying ÂŁ9 a month mind, they can fuck right off

I subscribe to YouTube Premium. Worth it in my opinion... Works across all devices, all good. I watch a fair amount.

Shocks me when I see others watching YouTube with all the ads mid video, that would drive me mad!

I believe you can VPN to other countries and subscribe to Premium for cheaper, I haven't done that, but if you Google it along with HotUKDeals you should find some info.

I've long since given up on normal TV, Sky, and the streaming platforms.

We have a YT Premium family account, and it's good value based on the amount of YT we watch in our household. Unlimited entertainment, exactly to my preferences, and no adverts.

It's also a big factor that the kids don't get adverts for absolute shite rammed down their throats either. I can't stand the absolute dross when I catch a bit of broadcast TV. 20 minutes an hour of adverts for shit plastic toys, junk food on the kids channels, and all gambling, bingo, and OAP nappies for adults. I've no idea why people allow it into their minds.

I received a message on my creator channel a couple of days ago to say YouTube's new AI technology can now pick up ad blockers and their clamping down, and pretty soon viewers will no longer be able to view content until these blockers are turned off

I can't view YouTube despite allow-listing them on Adblock unless I log in to Google/Youtube which I don't want to do. If I try to watch without logging in then I get the ban even if I allow YouTube ads, if I'm logged in it works ok. Appalling. I don't want google hoovering up more information about me. No wonder people use all sorts of means to get round these things. Looks like bye bye to Youtube on the desktop. IF AI can create this sort of bollocks on something so simple, God help us when AI gets more pervasive.

Just don't go on You Tube for a while a few days etc. They don't really want you not to use their product they really want you to pay the premium. See if that changes anything.

I've used adblocker for many years but last month a warning came up on YouTube asking me to turn my adblocker off or I will be blocked from using YouTube. Apparently you get three warnings

Me too. With all the kids hammering it every day it was a no brainer.
