Thing is Lytham - and I didn't want to post this whilst things still mattered - but I was out with friends one Friday tea-time (the Southampton match weekend), in the Fairhaven pub and Mansford and his wife were in. She left just before him to go to a separate appointment and I got talking to him. I suggested he was 300 miles further north than he should be but he noted that his wife was heavily pregnant so he wasn't going to the match. Fair enough. But, as I was walking away he said, "we'll be OK with Mick (McCarthy)." I thought, how can you be so sure? As usual, it was BS Ben. He didn't know when to stay quiet.

Similar to his blabbing at the Southport friendly pre-season. When he came over to ‘quell the riot’ he was waxing lyrical about a host a stellar signings arriving the following week. Fuck all followed.
