According to Alan Nixon claims Rotherham have accepted our bid usually a good source. Wonder if he will be used to .model new kit launch

Must wonder with Critchley being boss that clubs who sell us younger players will be keen on a ‘sell on fee %’ as opposed to cold hard cash as it’s likely we can make them considerably more money in the longer term now.
I can certainly see this being favourable when it comes to doing deals with smaller clubs

Informal talks happen all the time. There is little point in wasting our time in agreeing a fee of the players terms are silly. In cases like this were Rotherham want to sell his agent would have been given permission to talk to clubs to garner interest.

I'm guessing mid 1970s could be the last time we had a player called Jerry as well? Would love to see Weston crack the first team. Jerry and Tony up front!

Who's written him off? Everyone seems keen for him to sign apart from a few impatient folk who only want players who hate money and bleed tangerine 😄

There has been posts from some people saying they were bored of it all and we should move on (despite Yates not having any input). This will then somehow have mutated in their minds to him being a big time money grabbing Charlie who has wasted the clubs time.
I give it 3 games before they're on his back 😂

He has proved a good partnership with Keishi, and if he was a pivotal player for a promotion push then it makes sense to offer a small transfer and maybe a sell on clause to Rotherham.
Targetted signings are always better than a scattergun approach.
 
There was a podcast on this site I listened too a couple of days ago. The Seasiders podcast guy speaking with the Swindon equivelent. Excellent piece and according to the Swindon guy we would be getting a good one in Yates. Said Swindon fans rated him highly (more so than Doyle and Keshi). They really wanted him back. Played wide most games (in a front 3) and when he played centre (Doyle out etc) he scored every game.

Where did you listen to that?
I’ve hardly seen any content from the podcast, which I thought was a bit strange given everyone’s sat around there was a big audience for them.

There's been plenty uploaded on Spotify, but for some reason they're not coming up on the main website. Think it might be because they need to add a page for the new season. @Trimm-Trab could probably tell you more!

Ah right thanks don’t have Spotify. I’ll have a look on apples podcast thing.
 
Just because it’s good doesn’t mean that it’s enough.

I’d read them comments as they’ve offered what they can but can’t compete to try and manage fan expectations.
 
That article mentions the payment plan again, whereas we are supposedly offering a lump sum.

Seems strange they'd persist with it considering our bid has been accepted.
 
Nixon is normally spot on but doesnt get everything right. Until it is confirmed by the club we are all guessing.

There is always a chance that Swindon match our offer and payment terms...... however if our bid has been accepted and we agree a contract with Yates, they may not get that chance.
 
Suppose we are not even sure if Yates wants to come here. Could he, in theory, turn down our contract offer forcing Rotherham to accept a lesser offer from Swindon and sign for them.
Or would Rotherham discuss the offer with the player and accept it based on the player being interested. If so pretty sure this is done and dusted and he will be a Blackpool player on a few days as Mansford and Saddler seem very good at selling the club to players.
