And let's get Northern to cancel the trains tooLet's give them 4k and return the favour, makes no sense in leaving empty seats, yes we was on the wrong side of the result yesterday but a lot of people within the game have come out and gave credit to both fans/teams.
When the 'permanent' East is built I would assume it will be easier to segregate based upon home/away demand, i.e. 13,000 Seasiders and 3,000 away fans.Every season we don't have a fully functioning new East stand is another season that we lose out on 100s of thousands that would improve our ability to compete at the top end with the likes of Bolton and Portsmouth.
These things take time but the sooner we get it done the better. Whichever way you do it with away allocation, the Bolton game would be a 16k crowd with a finished stadium, and as it is it probably won't reach 13k. That's a lot of money to miss out on in league one.
It would be now if the demand from home fans was sufficientThe East used to used in its entirety, including the Prem season, so why not now…?
Why it was OK last season for those with big away followings? The current temporary stand is inadequetely designed to fully accommodate away fans in terms of access/egress and welfare facilities (i.e. refreshments and toilets)
Plus I personally wouldn't want 4,000 away fans in a 14-15,000 crowd.
AgreedI don’t understand us restricting the east. May as well only have half a stand. I can’t think of any other team that needs a 5 mile gap between supporters and the police having a nose bleed at the thought of policing a crowd over 10k.
When we played Sunderland in 2019 there were 5/6000 Sunderland fans at Bloomers. The East used to used in its entirety, including the Prem season, so why not now…?
Think Wrexham was a 6 thousand one to replace the Kop. They were after a grant to help fund it but was turned down in a political move. Now looking at other ways to fund it.Bristol Rovers look to be getting a new stand. Saw it on one the highlights programmes. looks half decent. Wrexham have been refused permission for a six hundred seat stand on enviromental grounds . Not sure what exactly but the local council seem pretty sure its not going ahead in its current form. And the Bramley dock everton stadium. JEEZ that is another level. . JUST want ours up ASAP.
Livingston couldn't even fill their one stand....Joke!Talking about giving away followings too many, I'm just watching a bit of Livingston v Rangers on TV. They've given Rangers 3 sides of the ground. Scottish football is ridiculous. Oh and of course Rangers are winning.
Maybe their multi-millionaire Yank owners can pay for it!Think Wrexham was a 6 thousand one to replace the Kop. They were after a grant to help fund it but was turned down in a political move. Now looking at other ways to fund it.
Most of us wouldn't know. When we played Sunderland in 2019 there were 5/6000 Sunderland fans at Bloomers.
Gonna be the same as it is now according to Simon at the last structured dialogue meetingThe ground capacity when the new East is built seems shrouded in mystery but if its not 20k then its a missed opportunity and I just don't get it. If your going to do it do it properly. Games like yesterday and the one on Friday show what's needed and if its not going to up the capacity it will always make us the poor relations. Incentives to increase home support and proper allocations for away fans with big atmospheres.
Well that’s simply not big enough imo, I agree with PNENIL that it will be a missed opportunity if the club don’t up the capacity with this new stand.Gonna be the same as it is now according to Simon at the last structured dialogue meeting
Costs are too high for the projected return he said. Wasn’t something I could really argue with when he’s the one putting his money where his mouth isWell that’s simply not big enough imo, I agree with PNENIL that it will be a missed opportunity if the club don’t up the capacity with this new stand.
Hmmm, fair I suppose.Costs are too high for the projected return he said. Wasn’t something I could really argue with when he’s the one putting his money where his mouth is
its not the money. Wrexham council are objecting on enviromental grounds.Maybe their multi-millionaire Yank owners can pay for it!
It was but only half for away fans with the home fans being in the North section. The East used to used in its entirety, including the Prem season, so why not now…?
Meaning what?It was but only half for away fans with the home fans being in the North section.
Meaning it wasn’t used for away fansMeaning what?
This has been said on lots of threads and while it’s definitely true is it also not the bare minimum to observe the silence in a respectful way?Not sure if it has been mentioned elsewhere, but the respect shown by all fans for the respectful silence was observed immaculately.
My point was the whole stand was and could be for away supporters.Meaning it wasn’t used for away fans
No I wasn’t there either but its easy enough to look it up. And yes I was there on the 9th of March. Most of us wouldn't know.
Well he should look for other outside funding then.Costs are too high for the projected return he said. Wasn’t something I could really argue with when he’s the one putting his money where his mouth is
I thought it was already being funded or partly, crazy not to take the capacity up to at least 20000Well he should look for other outside funding then.
It limits us in so many ways and guarantees we will always be the smallest of the four Lancashire clubs for years to come. Trying to compete in the Championship long term with a 16 k stadium? Just makes us another Rotherham.
20 k is just perfect for us. Anything less is a fudge.I thought it was already being funded or partly, crazy not to take the capacity up to at least 20000
Outside funding as new investors good luck with that(Sadler had already said he'd be willing to talk to anyone).Well he should look for other outside funding then.

What do you want us to do become another Fleetwood and stick a few hundred in the corner?I don't get why people want Bolton to have a full away end. They will come in numbers and be in party atmosphere. They are probably our main rival in this league, why would you want to give them a small bigger advantage support wise.
Nothing annoys me more than when I see that end loud, singing and in party mode, particularly when we are losing, as we did so frequently in the championship when it was full. It's a depressing watch.
I'm loathe to defend them but they could easily have built 4 stands and made us another Scunthorpe. Instead they built 2 decent stands but wouldn't budge any further till VB intervened. At least it gave us some scope. I do think the South should have been as big as the North , another there but not quite there.Agree with all the above, but also with the fact that it is easy for us to spend SS' money!
The fault lies with the parasitic Oystain dynasty, leaving is with a basic 3 sided stadium that barely holds 11,000; that showed a distinct lack of ambition when you consider back in the 80's Catweasel was proposing to build a 40k Coliseum!
I had no problem with the phased re-development of BR but the parasites first priority was not the stands but the pre-lets.I'm loathe to defend them but they could easily have built 4 stands and made us another Scunthorpe. That‘s agilen as nothing will changeAnd let's get Northern to cancel the trains too
The average attendance in the 80s was about 3000 and about 7000 in the 70sWhat do you want us to do become another Fleetwood and stick a few hundred in the corner?
I want big atmospheres, proper away support so you can enjoy it when we win. That's what it's all about.
I remember the late 70s early 80s. You would live for big away support on the Kop to make it a big game and pick out those fixtures. Not cower because it might give us a disadvantage.
Compare that with when we played Wigan last year and they interrupted the minutes silence. Over 20k in that ground and you could hear a pin drop yesterday. Not sure if it has been mentioned elsewhere, but the respect shown by all fans for the respectful silence was observed immaculately.
