Right, what now? KJ for Beez?

Luckily we’ve defended pretty well but I can’t help but feel they’ll score at least one so we need another.

We do look dangerous but need more possession this second half.

Decent game.
 
Grimshaw and ekpiteta have been outstanding that first half but we need to up our game in the second half we are not going to hang on to a 1 goal lead
 
Started well but lucky to be winning really. They are getting too much space and into good positions too easily. We will do well to hang on.
 
😂 Thommo was in full flow at half time and they’ve just fu**ed him off for the adverts. What a shitshow. The audio makes him sound like a fat lad running to catch Greggs before it closes. Aaaannnnyyyywwwaaayyy………good half Pool 🧡
 
Good half Pool, look a good side today, I would take Bs off for Joseph as we are not playing to his strengths, he has done ok. But we need the mobility that Joseph brings.
 
Portsmouth's playing style is exactly what you want to watch. Rapid one touch forward passing football and movement. The right ball into the right areas at the right time and I think they'll be talking now about how to make best use the spaces around our wonky wingbacks as the game goes on.

Feels like only matter of time before they overwhelm us and score, as Ekpiteta can't be everywhere. And then it's a question of how many they get, and what extra damage starts happening with cards and injuries along the way for this and the next games etc. But at least we've had 45 minutes out of it.

Got to be decisive and ruthless with those counter attacks and not have the ball bouncing about off players. We need the Jerry Yates from our last visit here.
 
Impressed with Dale today and Carey has done well . I would say it’s been a good team performance so far . Lady Luck has been on our side at times but you need a bit of that .

Great from a score pov, a bit sloppy on the ball after scoring and allowing them into good areas too easily.

We deservedly took the lead

We're soaking up a bit too much pressure for my liking since then, but other than the 1v1 to closest they got was Marv's effort!

Grimshaw a bit more commanding in his box is helping.

We look good going forward; just need to be a fraction quicker through the midfield.

I agree we need something a bit different to Bees - I can't see NC making the changes until 70 minutes mind.

Big second half coming up.

I just hope he doesn’t go and try to hold onto this lead, it’s in his nature, he could bring beesley off and put Connolly on

decent half, looked a bit under the cosh at times in terms of not holding on to the ball, further up field. marvs having a blinder. beesley doing ok for me should have had a shot a couple of times though but as tried to play other players in.
ref very fussy - need to be careful.
 
On the comms. RL obviously got the message as they cut into Thommo to cover a Pompey attack and then tried a horrendously poor (delayed) attempt at interaction between the 2.

Epo doing well. Surprised by Dale and Carey, both looking at facing the right way (Dale did have a bit of a mare after the goal though).

Changes WILL be needed. Joseph one for deffo.
 
Yes the home team are expected to have good moments but we started the panic on the ball and started hoofing it. We have to do better on the ball as our defence is not good enough to absorb 45 minutes of pressure.
