No chance, as Steve has never coached at the Liverpool Academy!Spoken more sense during this game than I’ve heard for a while. The sort of character we need in the dressing room. Get him in the management team to help out
have been more wrong.Just being interviewed now. He said it was a great atmosphere and easy win. That will rile a few on here
Exactly DouglasWhy would Sadler undermine the manager and bring him in unless Critch wanted him ? To my knowledge there is no link between Critch and Thommo so not sure why anyone would even think this was an option.
H wants to come back.Spoken more sense during this game than I’ve heard for a while. The sort of character we need in the dressing room. Get him in the management team to help out
Absolutely notSpoken more sense during this game than I’ve heard for a while. The sort of character we need in the dressing room. Get him in the management team to help out
Absolutely not
May as well also get Matt Williams, Holloway and Karl Oyston back
What's James Beattie and Andy Reid doing these days
We need to move forward and stop ** harping back to the glory days
There were many factors that brought about that wonderful day at Wembley but the team spirit was the main driving factor and Thommo, for me, was a huge part of that. It was no accident that players ran to celebrate with Thommo when scoring goals, rather than the gaffer, Thommo kept them grounded and was their "man to go to" with whatever they needed/wanted. He was a great coach but a good friend too, something you can't really be as a manager.I still say his influence had as much or even more to get us into the prem!
Love to see him given a role, but not holding my breath.
Gary Bowyer can be included in that lot. Oh he speaks well on Radio Blackburn. In that case make you know Brett as boss.Absolutely not

Should get on great with Critch thenHis post match summaries always seem a lot different to the game I've just watched
Stevie ** Wonder and Ray bastard Charles can name the teams flawsIf you listen to his commentary, he nails all of the teams flaws. Some people complain Critchley fails to see the obvious with his bizarre team selections and subs. That’s how I see it. It’s not ridiculous to want an experienced coach with ties to the area to be re-recruited
I think the timing is important - there's a solution that needs to be found within the coaching/management at the moment. An fresh pair of eyes and voice might improve our fortunesA bring Thompson back thread. Very original, don’t think this has been suggested before.
Not really. Crichley doesn’t want him. What would happen now?I think the timing is important - there's a solution that needs to be found within the coaching/management at the moment. An fresh pair of eyes and voice might improve our fortunes
Presume by board you're including SS in there?Convinced the majority of this board only know people who used to be affiliated with the club. The obsession with ex-pool is bizarre.
The clue is fresh, not an ex.I think the timing is important - there's a solution that needs to be found within the coaching/management at the moment. An fresh pair of eyes and voice might improve our fortunes
Theoretically if he didn’t.I didn't know Critchley didn't want any extra coaching staff. Has it been suggested to him and he has rejected it?
He is working on Radio Lancs for the same reason anyone works, money. His main job is head of recruitment at Oldham Athletic.I just wonder why, if he is as good as some on here think, that he is working on Radio Lancs? Great respect for what he was part of, but leave the past in the rear view mirror.
Who are in the National League. If we took a 59 year old coach from the National League, most fans would scream 'lack of ambition.' We are guilty as a fanbase of wearing tangerine blinkers. He is working on Radio Lancs for the same reason anyone works, money. His main job is head of recruitment at Oldham Athletic.
Read the post correctly. HEAD OF RECRUITMENT, not a coach.Who are in the National League. If we took a 59 year old coach from the National League, most fans would scream 'lack of ambition.' We are guilty as a fanbase of wearing tangerine blinkers.
I did. I was pointing out that if he had not been involved with BFC before, there would be no clamour at all.Read the post correctly. HEAD OF RECRUITMENT, not a coach.
I didn’t suggest he did return to us. I was merely pointing out to you that he’s still involved in football and isn’t just a radio commentator.I did. I was pointing out that if he had not been involved with BFC before, there would be no clamour at all.
