Stevenage v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 03.02.24

Saw the shot of the goal , weak effort, put in the other corner . Ekpiteta not likely to get another contract you'd think. Wish Hamilton had been sold. Would sooner have Dale. We need an experienced centre back I think. Could he not have brought Byers and Dembele on ? Too passive.

I'm not as pissed off after today's game as I have been after a few others. Stevenage are a shite, shite house of a team who have done this to plenty of other teams. Doesn't excuse us but I always thought we'd get turned over today. I've never bought into this one of the best squads in the league thing. We have poor defenders and strikers who don't score.

Don’t forget the non existent midfield who go missing most games

When will Sadler learn that Critch cannot do the job on his own? He needs experience alongside because its midway through the season and he still can't pick a feckin' team!! Its blatantly obvious his constant tinkering ended our season much earlier than today's result did..

The vast majority of AVFTT members could've had a better result

well that is the opportunity for any challenge on the playoffs gone. Great.

Why sign 2 more midfielders when we clearly needed a winger and a striker to wake things up

CJ, Gabriel, Norburn, Morgan, Coulson and Husband all played poorly. Zero quality from any of them. To play with those tactics against Stevenage, we must be brain dead. I feel for the 700+ who traveled to witness an awful game, and a worse performance. Those play offs look a long way off.

Critchley said, before the game, that after today there were lots of points available. Felt he wasn't positive enough about winning today.

I think a lot of games we have decent control of the game but when you've got shite goals being conceded at the back and a impotent strike force hour never gonna get far. Byers should have come absolutely today.

Stevenage are absolutely shite football wise, like beyond shite, but we've played into their hands and they've done this to loads of teams.
Horrible side, classic Steve Evans, but if we can't beat them it's a poor do.

We don't have a lot about us away from home at times.

Had some good chances 1st half but just aren't clinical, a good side puts one of them away and also second half doesn't copy their opponent in playing hoofball.

It was pretty much a must win game for me, otherwise a mountain to climb and we failed yet again.
