.....just announced over 180 cases of Covid in Scotland could possibly be traced back to visits to Blackpool and has asked Scots not to travel here
Apparantly 58% of them are already in town due to half term holidaysIn favour of what? Coming to Blackpool?
All traced back to the jaggy thistle
I was there, unbeknown to my mum and dad, who thought I was at the Youth Club, and would have clattered me if they had found out. I could feel the tension as soon as I went in and wasn't at all happy, so I stood near an exit just in case, once it started I just left and got away from the place s quickly as possible. Pandemonium isn't really an adequate word. Barmy absolutely barmy.DaveP
You've reminded me how wild things could get here during the old Glasgow fortnight. I think a lot of the locals used to give it a wide berth and let them get on with it.
The biggest mistake Blackpool ever made was booking The Rolling Stones for the last Glasgow Fair weekend at the Empress ballroom. What a night that was!!
You and a few others on here will remember it well.
The Stones certainly did..they've never been near the place since.
The Rolling Stones, the Glasgow Fair, and a riot in Blackpool
No band can match the Rolling Stones in terms of their sheer longevity. The core of the group - Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts - have been performing since 1962 and show no signs of preparing for retirement.www.scotsman.com
Blackpool probably singled out because of the publicity in Scotland about Rangers and Celtic fans decamping down here for the Derby game.Seriously. Surely Sturgeon should have said that travelling anywhere for 4 hours on a coach is a seriously bad idea at the moment. And not singled out any particular resort.
I had a bird's eye view from the balcony!I was there, unbeknown to my mum and dad, who thought I was at the Youth Club, and would have clattered me if they had found out. Is that for real ?Sounds like it’s Tier 3 for all of Lancashire from tomorrow.
Is that for real ?
Thanks Trimm, wasn’t aware.Sky news reporting it has been signed off tonight and a meeting will be held tomorrow. Can’t imagine they’ll change their minds.
It need Bozo to sign it off
What’s the main differences between tier 2 and 3 ?
Thank you ! I thought I read the rule of 6 still applied to outdoors in tier 3, evidently notTier 2
Mixing of households indoors not allowed
Rule of six applies to private gardens and outdoor spaces - social distancing rules also apply
Pubs and restaurants remain open, but no mixing of households inside and 10pm curfew
Tier 3
No mixing of households indoors and outdoors, including in private gardens
Pubs and bars to close
Restaurants, and pubs that can operate as restaurants, allowed to stay open
No wedding receptions
Local politicians will decide if gyms, betting shops, casinos, hairdressers and beauty salons should close
Non-essential shops, schools and universities to remain open
Avoid non-essential travel
Travel outside area advised against
Avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK if resident in a Tier 3 area
People resident elsewhere should avoid staying overnight in a Tier 3 area
Not good news for the Armfield club thenIn Tier 3 Pubs and bars must close, and can only remain open where they operate as if they were a restaurant – which means serving substantial meals, like a main lunchtime or evening meal. ‘They may only serve alcohol as part of such a meal.’
So those pubs that don’t serve food must close and those that serve main meals can remain open, let’s see how this will be interpreted!
And The Dog!Not good news for the Armfield club then
