I'm ok with just beating the weaker teams. It's a start!
Expecting us to compete with established squads that have have had success last year, I'm ok with waiting for that. Yes, some of them have had player turnover but in most, if not all cases they've still got 5 or 6 influential first team players from last season, if not more.
We really do need to put in a couple of performances against the sides lower than us though. If we don't, it begs the question of project big rebuild, 433 - why?
I predicted 13th in the pre season poll, but said that I'd be happy with evidence that we've built a platform for really competing the season after, knew the missing links and were able to have a much more targeted recruitment next summer, perhaps signing 3 players of real quality not 15 of unknown impact.
On that basis, I think next 3 games are really interesting. It could go either way. My inner pessimist doesn't see how we're going to score many, my inner optimist says when we click, confidence will flow and we'll murder some of the weaker sides.
