Could these be the fixtures to kick start our season? All struggling just like us...
 
I really hope they do... Imagine if they don’t kick start the season and we’re still without a win. Eurgh. 🤢😱
 
Pick up less than 6 points from these games an were in big trouble.

Critchley will surely be gone by then too
 
These next three games are the fulcrum of our season, I hope we can get 7 points out of it, propel us up the league with much improved performance. If not and we are still not creating chances and in the bottom 4 I‘m afraid it has to be time to press the reset button, gamble and get someone in who can hopefully turn things around. Crunch time is upon us and NC
 
Yes these next three games can and probably will kickstart our season. Improvements are being made in defence , we have played some decent football it just needs a commitment now to attacking football. Commit bodies in the final third why should we fear these teams.
 
3 points or less from them and he’s in real trouble.

4-5 gets him to mid December

6 or more and we’ve probably turned the corner, however these are 3 of the poorer teams this year.
 
I'm ok with just beating the weaker teams. It's a start!

Expecting us to compete with established squads that have have had success last year, I'm ok with waiting for that. Yes, some of them have had player turnover but in most, if not all cases they've still got 5 or 6 influential first team players from last season, if not more.

We really do need to put in a couple of performances against the sides lower than us though. If we don't, it begs the question of project big rebuild, 433 - why?

I predicted 13th in the pre season poll, but said that I'd be happy with evidence that we've built a platform for really competing the season after, knew the missing links and were able to have a much more targeted recruitment next summer, perhaps signing 3 players of real quality not 15 of unknown impact.

On that basis, I think next 3 games are really interesting. It could go either way. My inner pessimist doesn't see how we're going to score many, my inner optimist says when we click, confidence will flow and we'll murder some of the weaker sides.

I can see the same things happening again unless there is a fairly drastic change; teams using a low block against us, shoring up the little pressure we offer then at some point sneaking a goal and it being game over x 3.

Whether we go 532, 442, whatever, it is blatantly clear that things cannot carry on exactly they have been.
