Peterborough v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 21.11.20

Whilst he may or may not be tired it's an easy get out for Caldycritch not to drop Greta- possibly.

On any extension, I'm a bit dubious that they will extend part on the basis that they will have a lot of Cup games he could be involved in and partly he has shown internationally that he is better than L1 If he can have another loan Club that may suit Arsenal better if it was C/ship.

I'd love him to stay but it may take a very tidy sum to offset the reasoning for him to return home.
I reckon he will stay on here. Probably.

It's going to be a hard-fought 2-1 win today for The Mighty Pool's 5th win on the trot.
C'MON LADS.

Ward > both Robson and Anderson?
Also not sure Gabriel has put a foot wrong since a shaky game against Ipswich and Peterborough are usually there to be got at, even if they're good going forward. Last year, Macdonald was crucial against them and this year we've gone with two 'proper' full backs.

Still, as said above, probably best to wait and see. I guess his thinking might be that Gabriel's positioning might be exposed against a better side but I can't work out why you don't play Robson and Dougall as they seem to be ideal together to me. Left/right, both got a bit of bite, Dougall sits a bit more and Robson can go forward a bit as result.

We'll see. COYP!

When does 5 subs come into play? Not that Critch will make 5 subs as he doesn't do subs...

as said bench looks very strong. Seems to me Critchley has gone for a solid back four rather than forward attacking full backs.. It was something I said he needed to do so I shouldn't really criticise him for it but I'd have restored Ballard and yep think we have better options than Ward.

If Kemp’s fit, Ward wouldn’t make the bench for me, never mind starting.

I don't disagree. He obviously values something in Ward, I can't put my finger on what it is apart from running up and down and being technically good. He doesn't seem to influence play much though. He's not shit, it's just difficult to see exactly what he does that improves us over what others give us.

Can't say I'm really impressed with either to be honest.

There's a player in Robson, no question. I think that goal last game will have done him the world of good. He really needed that as he'd got into the bad habit of avoiding shooting.

I hope the defence does well but I fear for Husband and Turton...think we will be back to getting the ball forward at a leisurely pace and I really do think we will struggle

Yeah, that's my worry. Then again, I always think going at the opposition is the answer cos we're the mighty Tangerine Wizards and if we attack anyone, we'll win. Perhaps that's not quite the reality, but I always think that!

There was a tweet in the week that compared Ward's stats to some Poshplayer and Ward's stats looked impressive.

We are data driven now!

I would not get too hung up with team selection with 12 games in under 6 weeks nearly everyone will be used.
I think a lot of our squad players do not actually weaken the team it is just better competition for places

Back after a couple weeks rest
ive seen Kemp is missing , what’s his issue , injury , I must of missed it

I would off started Ballard , but has he go sent off , it’s who has the shirt I suppose

It's usually live an hour before.
Ifollow chat says it will be connected shortly.

I fear for Husband every game. I hope that Garbutt proves to be a better option, but as it stands I think left back is our weakest position.
If you include Garbutt, with Kemp, Lubs, and Virtue not in the squad, we do have serious competition for places, something we’ve not had in donkeys.

I wonder if we might see earlier substitutions now it's 5? If things aren't working as planned or a player looks off his game there's less risk in making an early change.
