Agree with others, they are bossing midfield and the loose balls. Presume Dougall is still not 100% cos he would surely start before Virtue if fully fit.
 
Why don't we press their defenders, we let them have all the time in the world. Even when the keeper came out then we just let him set his ball up

Yep it’s fatal to all our good work, whoever he does pass back to has half a yard of space less than they did when they gave it him so it’s just a losing formula
 
Ffs dog got out again. Which bit of keep him in I’m watching the match wasn’t understood. Take it I’ve not missed much.
 
Good half of football. Great shot from Simms my highlight goalie did very well to save that
 
Quite pleased we are not one down. We need someone to take control of midfield, if we can squeeze them Simms Jerry Mitchell or DJ will come good

It’s not all his fault but IMO he’s a half decent squad player who fits in well if we’re on top but becomes quite a liability when we need to find a goal. This game’s more of the latter than former.

And it’s mad so many people think we’ve been the weaker side, that’s just the perception because of our league positions. We’ve forced loads of good saves from them, had a goal line clearance prevent an amazing goal, and been a whisker away from getting a penalty. It’s definitely been a balanced game.
 
Midfield isn’t offering enough for me, both wide men don’t want to to tuck inside so we’re short. Wimbledon Have been ok and probably should be in front.

Another thing we used to do, when the season started we dominated the ball and pressed, now we look poor on the ball fairly often.

We gave up on it early season because of results but would have improved as the players gelled had we stuck with it.

Now often its long ball and when we're pressed our passing often isn't good enough.
 
If ormerod thought that was an entertaining 1st half then he's easily pleased.
Blackpool were 2nd best all over the park.
The poorest 1st half display from Blackpool for quite a while
 
The shape of the team is simply not right. We are missing the all action style of Dougall. CJ is not fit, I'm really surprised he started ahead of Gabriel. Mitchell has done sod all on the left midfield. Far better options than him.

All in all very disappointed considering the players at our disposal.
 
I'm always worried when Husband and Turton are both on the pitch and they both need to come off Sooners. Our defence is so bad we're making them look like a good team.

Husband off, move Mitchell to LB, and add Kaikai further up. Gabriel on for Turton.
 
Could be worse, we could be playing Northampton.
Tough tight match on a nasty, slick greasy pitch.
Not sure what some of you expect really.
A bit more composure, better ref we could be a couple up... As could they.

Bit meh really that half. CJs not done ought, Turton not great, Virtue I'm not a fan of and never really have been. Midfield need to get more control but it looks a bit weak today, Stewart exempt.

Yes to be fair to you both it excited me at the start I saw Mitchell and CJ tearing it up but we’ve been second best to everything. Turton a been ok but Husbands been awful for me.

The biggest let down has been central midfield, totally overrun. Luckily Wimbledon are as toothless as we are.

Sod all is OTT, he’s had some really good moments and some really bad moments. If this is very disappointing are the only other two settings ‘pleased’ or ‘meltdown’?
 
We are well second best in the first 45

Every ball from Thorniley is a long diagonal to the right wing and every ball from Ballard is sideways or backwards.

Chizzy keeps telling me what a great game it is, but I don't see it.
 
Think Wimbledon have have surprised us a bit today with the press. I’m not sure how long they can keep it up though and it looks like we’ve gone with pace in order to try catch them on the break and punish them as they tire.
I don’t think any subs are needed or a change of tactic - I think we’ll eventually punish them - they look like they have a mistake in them (a bit like us early in the season when playing the press).
I think Husband is doing excellently and Turton is doing what he does - which is calm and steady. Turton being Turton allows CJ the freedom to do as he wants.
I would like Mitchell and Virtue to be a little more direct. Virtue has it within him but looks scared stiff of going forward and taking the shot on. It must be a psychological thing because he’s very capable of running forward and scoring some great goals. The lads definitely playing within himself.
 
Has Critchley got his selection wrong again? Look disjointed all over the pitch.
Simms in the game but no goals since Wigan, is he up to it?
