Blackpool v AFC Wimbledon Official Matchday Thread 06.03.21

People would be more likely to join in the prediction league if you published the table. Last one was January 28th!

3-1 to Pool.

Haven't seen anything but any more news on how far away Madine is from being in the mix?

Hope to see a positive attacking performance. Expect Wimbledon to make it more of a war of attrition unfortunately.
Ugly 1-0 win.

Looking at the number they let in, I'd be inclined to go hell for leather to get the game won in the first half. Then do the same in the second to get the GD up towards top 6 levels.

I'm going for a 2-0 HT and a 5-1 FT*

* This is all subject to Caldycritch selecting the right team. Madine off the bench would be ace.

Bad feeling, after getting out played for large parts of the game by Crewe, who we made look like Man City at times, I think the real Wimbledon of lge 1 will produce a coupon busting 1 nil win.

A nervy 1-0 win.
People forget how we outplayed Crewe in the reverse fixture at Gresty Road.

It will be disappointing if we do not win however it will not be the end neither.

Hope we bounce back from losing 2 points and the players realise that every match is going to be a battle....and that Critch doesnt make any more silly substitutions.....it was great to see CJ back but put him on the wing where he belongs....And hope Husband is back....because as one poster said a couple of weeks ago....there is definately some Barney Rumble with Thornley.

the thinking was he could have a more free role in the middle to feel himself back in.

They are in the relegation zone (21st) and will be scrapping for their lives. Our players will have to be careful of regarding it as an easy win and not fighting so hard. (We have "previous" for beating teams above us and losing to teams at the bottom.) That said, I think we'll be really up for it following the draw to Crewe.

3-0 COME ON YOU POOOOOOOOOLLLLL!

I agree with Grumpy . they will be fighting like rabid dogs to try and get out of relegation zone and we have a poor record against them in recent years, when they have been mostly rubbish.....perhaps the Gods are against us..... it'll be tough today.UTMP however, I will be watching and praying for the Mighty.

We need a high tempo start and get at them from the off. As with all teams struggling it is vital you don't give them something to cling on to. Hopefully we may see Madine on the bench also.

Nah. Not for me. If they fought like rabbid dogs every week they wouldn't be down there. A low on confidence team that are deflated IMO.

Get em battered.

Not overly confident this will be as comfortable as some are predicting. I think they'll come with an overly defensive mindset and we'll struggle to break them down.
Hopefully scrape a 1-0 win, but wouldn't be surprised at 0-0 or 1-1.

CJ Hamilton starts as Pool make four changes from Tuesday night.
IN: Husband, Turton, Mitchell and Hamilton
OUT: Garbutt, Gabriel, Ward and Kaikai
TEAM: Maxwell, Turton, Ballard, Thorniley, Husband, Stewart, Virtue, Mitchell, Hamilton, Simms, Yates

Critchley obviously feels pace is key. Hopefully CJ and Mitchell can provide enough service for Yates and Simms.

The concern I have with that team, is that its full of forward players that need a through ball for them to run onto, but does it have the midfielder in it that is capable of making that pass? I'm not sure Stewart or Virtue is that player but we'll see.
Ward is extremely unlucky, he surely must have picked up an injury.
I will say that I don't mind changes being made because let's be honest we were quite poor for long periods against Crewe.

Thats a really good bench but I worry when Turton Husband and Virtue are all in the team...hope they prove me massively wrong and make me look foolish(that isnt too hard to do)
