Where did you watch the 2017 Play Off Final?

That's precisely what makes it a tough watch.

Any Blackpool fan who continued to line their pockets throughout that time is a special kind of tosser.
What about the 3,000 that accepted the Oyston shilling and went to the Wigan away game that he provided tickets?
I said back then fans should boycott and hit the arsehol in the pocket.

I went and have apologised for attending. Cannot believe that so many didn’t bother to watch it.

I watched the semis in the Highfield and brilliant atmosphere. Had to laugh at AVFTT updates supporting Luton
in hindsight aren’t you now glad we won. I know many wanted us to fail to make Play offs and even further relegation

I can't remember if I watched or not I don't even know who we played now (try to blank the shite oystons out out of my mind ) I know I moved to Spain on 20th sept 2016 ! ,And think I may have been moving between Appartments around that time ☹️,(never mind all is good now 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁)c,Mon the mighty 3 points tonight and we could be beating nobbers next season twice hopefully 🤞.

I travelled to Blackpool with my 2 boys stayed the night and watched in the Excelsior

Still wanted us to win as i still had hope of the Oystons going and wanted us to be the highest we could be

Glad i did to he honest as i had a great day in the Excelsior place was bouncing

Old Town Hall in Poulton.
Wasn’t busy, n majority who were in weren’t bothered about the football (or Blackpool as our Oyston Out shouts were met with blank responses)

I actually wish I hadn’t watched that. Just reminded me how them fuckin twats that still went boil my piss.
It would be interesting to interview those same people again and see if they still think the Oystons were the be-all and end-all, whether they think the club has progressed since the O's departure and whether they now wish they had joined the Boycott.

Curryman. As mentioned that I went. I had boycotted every home game and was the only time I broke the NAPM rule.
my feeling at the time was that the team deserved some support for making it to Wembley. It would have been far easier on the day to stay home and watch it on the box.
At least I am honest and not like the many two faced sods on here.

Just remember the likes of Villa away and Blackburn in the cup.

I'll admit to being at Wembley, although it was a really hard decision that went against my principles. My dad is 85 and I knew this was probably our last chance for us to go to a game together as he is at an age where he struggles on long journeys, and with sitting in the cold etc. I was already in London that weekend and he lives a 40 minute train ride from Wembley so we went, despite both being very anti-Oyston and fully behind the boycott, because I just felt it might be the last chance I get to watch a game with him.

My dad's still going strong now thankfully but it was the last game we were able to get to, and realistically there almost certainly won't be another as it's all too much for him these days, so in that regard I really don't regret it. We didn't give them any other money during the boycott era and if that was my last game watching the Pool by my dad's side as I'd done for nearly 50 odd years then I would have preferred it not to have been under the Oystons but life isn't perfect.

If you're up for boiling your blood some more, watch this video and try not fume at the comments by some Wembley goers (5 minute point onward). Tim from the Seasiders podcast also features!
TP,
a mate of mine who used to go with us as a season ticket holder now lives in Spain. He told us that on the day of the final he watched it in his local estate bar. All the other blokes watching were amazed how few Blackpool fans there were attending at Wembley. My mate explained all and they were mightily impressed with our NAPM stance.

Things like that are fine by me. Whilst demonstrating it should never have been our intention to sever fans' emotional bonds with the Club not the family relationships that enabled them in the first place.

Returning from holiday.
Watching in a bar in Turkey.
Minibus for the airport picked us up five minutes after Cullen scored.
Couldn't bear to find out result until arrived home; tried to make out I wasn't bothered whether we went up or not.
In fact the feeling afterwards was rather weird.

Ita funny, who wants to buy Blackpool, there's no one out there.

Little did people know that a pool fan across the world who had done very well in life was watching with interest and now look at us.

Whatever happened in the past, numpties or not, as long as they go and support and put their cash in, it all helps.

Plus it looked a joke back then, the atmosphere looked dead, its undeniable that with all fans back its fantastic.

I think the boycotting of the play off final is what makes it the most impressive fan protest ever.

We willingly in large numbers declined the option to watch our team play at Wembley, which is what fans dream of. Unbelievable when you think of it.

Tim's final reaction would bring a tear to a glass eye.

At the time who knew how the Belokon case would pan out? I thought they might have to pay out maybe £6 million and they'd find it.

So much has changed since.

Just googled 23,000 plus attendance

average League 2 play off final attendance is 17,000

how many were Blackpool? I can’t seem to get that stat

imagine the crowd if we all were in attendance

Didn't watch it as I have principles. No interest in discussing it either really.

Have seen the highlights since. We won. But more importantly we are under new ownership. Hopefully never have to go through that again.

I'd agree though with some sentiments here, how good is it now we got promoted?

Rebuild is much shorter under Sadler due to it, hard to see it that way though at the time!

‘He must be backing the team because we’re in the play offs’

wow!

I was on a rail replacement bus service back to Blackpool hungover as hell the day after a gig in Manchester. Desperate for Exeter to ruin the mushrooms big day out. Gutted when we won.

No matter what the mushrooms say they will know deep down that they were wrong to be there and even though we won it must have been an empty feeling celebrating with only a few thousand having probably been there in 2010 and 2012.

Also, I don’t buy the ‘it was my last chance to see Blackpool at Wembley with a loved one’

Thousands of Blackpool fans gave up that opportunity for the good of Blackpool Football Club. Just comes down to selfishness. And if you went you are selfish.

I enjoyed the whole day! Was ecstatic when we won! Feel sorry for people who felt the need to “boycott”

For me, that was Oyston's 'last chance'. I went to that game and when we won, on the way back to the car we said that if that wasn't his wake up call then we'd probably stop going. Of course that was then the summer of Riga which firmly nailed the coffin shut.

The whole day was an embarrassment as you well know LOL.

The real supporters who actually love and care for the club weren't there. And that's the highlight of the day for "us" that showed a bit of dignified self pride and backbone.
How many away games did you go to during the home boycott!
There is your answer

I won a pair of tickets for this from SkyBet and still didn’t go. Tried to give the tickets away for nowt for someone who wanted to take their kid who couldn’t afford it, only for the dosser to have them on Facebook trying to sell them half an hour later. Nobody was daft enough to buy free tickets thankfully but wow ...
