Wiki says he can play all across the back 4 and in midfield. Can play RB?
Abel on the Vital forum says that based on when he was at Lincoln he can play defensive mid, centre half, and right back at a push. This lad sounds like a replacement for Ollie Turton he can play almost anywhere!
Yeah, feel like his Wikipedia has been written by someone being a little generous (him, his agent or a family member?).Abel on the Vital forum says that based on when he was at Lincoln he can play defensive mid, centre half, and right back at a push.
Is this move a goer then?Yeah, feel like his Wikipedia has been written by someone being a little generous (him, his agent or a family member?).
Has he played across the back four? Yes, but only in emergencies really.
Of his career league appearances, 64 have been in defensive midfield, 52 have been at centre half, 18 have been at right back, then 7 at left back, 6 on the right of midfield and 1 on the left. He's not had a run of games at right back since the 16/17 season where he played 10 games there on loan for Wigan.
He does bring Turton's versatility to the table, without being a right back. I think he'll be earmarked as cover for Dougall/Stewart and will mean we can ship Robson off.
He's a good character too. Decent addition.
Cheers. Statto!Yeah, feel like his Wikipedia has been written by someone being a little generous (him, his agent or a family member?).

Quantum pyramid leap!Sonny Carey looking like another one. This guy has got Madine new Contract and signing Connelly right this week alone so seems to have some contacts in the club. A few others reporting this as well.
Ah, but can can he score OG's like Turton? This lad sounds like a replacement for Ollie Turton he can play almost anywhere!
Massive leap, Luton have already had a bid turned down for him and Bournemouth have been interested as well so a seems like a few clubs believe he could make the leap.Quantum pyramid leap!
Sure. Still a leap though. He must have impressed people obviously.Massive leap, Luton have already had a bid turned down for him and Bournemouth have been interested as well so a seems like a few clubs believe he could make the leap.
It's a gamble for sure, be great if pays off.Sure. Still a leap though. He must have impressed people obviously.
Indeed he does but nothing more from him yet.Mr Johnston comes up trumps again! No wonder Lytham Ken has gone into retirement.
Probably because they were free agents and unattached to Everton.Nobody has really mentioned that all of these Everton signings must surely be good news in our quest to get Simms back?
I think that ship sailed when we got Casey in. Connolly just Re-I forced that view. Shame but I think we are already strong in defence. Let this one go.Ballard to Milwall.won't go away.
Millwall in ‘advanced talks’ to beat Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool to Premier League defender deal » The72 - Football League News
Millwall are now in advanced talks with Arsenal defender Daniel Ballard over a loan deal, Football Insider has claimed. Millwall boss Gary Rowett is looking to bolster his ranks ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. Thus far, the Lions have brought in recent loan man Scott Malone and shot-stopper...the72.co.uk
It doesn't make no sense to me tbh. We are a level higher, the level he needs to be at. We are a stable club with a great coach, who would play him and develop him further. It would make quite a lot of sense, surely?Tin hat here. From Ballard's and his Club's pov it makes no sense to return here. To progress he needs different inputs from different coaches, set up's and players, not 'more of the same' although in a higher league.
The player himself can live in his own place, the Club can send scouts/U23 manager/whoever to monitor his progress much easier. DB can still have contact with AFC at AFC.
No longer out of sight out of mind.
Could be a lot of holes in this one but John Dillinger rumoured to be linked.
If we were the only option, then YES!!! But we aren't. All things being equal he stays local. It doesn't make no sense to me tbh. We are a level higher, the level he needs to be at. I think the writing has been on the wall for quite a while that Ballard won't be returning for whatever the reason and I'm not even sure that we actually wanted him unless we could lhave had him back on a permanent deal which was probably never possible. If we were the only option, then YES!!! On the coach side didn't DB sings the praises of CC as a teacher??

Makes sense that tango94Probably nail on the head there Insider.
If we could've made it a permanent then great but do we want to spend another season developing and adding further value to one of Arsenal's players...especially now that developing our own has been the stated aim.
On the other hand, if we HAVE put an offer in, that could be the reason the Millwall deal is not yet over the line.
We would be mad not to exploit the loan market IMO. Improve the team with players we can't afford to buy. Like we did last season, and the season before.
I disagree with part of what you say, with regard to “ different input from different coaches and players”.If arsenal decided not to loan him , but keep him there, he would be under the same coaches and with the same players. Surely they wouldn’t do that if it hindered his progress, nearer to home were they can monitor him more closely yes, that’s the main reason he won’t be back .Tin hat here. They have said he's going out one way or another. It makes sense to me (if they are not selling) to loan him somewhere closeish so they can keep a proper eye on his progress, bring him in for chats, training etc. That's what I would do.I disagree with part of what you say, with regard to “ different input from different coaches and players”.If arsenal decided not to loan him , but keep him there, he would be under the same coaches and with the same players. Agreed, I would have had him back in a flash, but that boat has now sailed, if the new boys are half as good as I hope, as said we don’t need him. But I wish him luck with his future career and will always be grateful for what he gave us.They have said he's going out one way or another. But as insy says I'm not sure we want him bad enough anyway.
You heard anything else on any players joining us Derby?Believe Callum Connelly has signed from Everton on a permanent
I saw that - to be honest, if he's gone to Bradford, am not sure he was on the list anyway!Cross this one off the list.
