A youngster learning the game, very talented let him grow without making sweeping statementsHow many times did he have the ball and go for a shot when he could have laid it off to someone in a better position.
Gary Madine was going mad with him as well, trying to get him to move further up the field and pick up his headers.
Only like Bowler was, especially at the start. How many times did he have the ball and go for a shot when he could have laid it off to someone in a better position.
Gary Madine was going mad with him as well, trying to get him to move further up the field and pick up his headers.
I don't think the ball was that easy to be fair, he had two players in the wayHow many times did he have the ball and go for a shot when he could have laid it off to someone in a better position.
Gary Madine was going mad with him as well, trying to get him to move further up the field and pick up his headers.
He got subbed as he wasn’t pressing their right back enough and I think Gaz was about to chin him.He played well today. I must admit to thinking him being subbed off was a bit of a wacky one as he was causing them problems but it worked out well in the end.
Gary might be the senior player but he isn't as good as Theo.He got subbed as he wasn’t pressing their right back enough and I think Gaz was about to chin him.
Apples and Oranges innit.Gary might be the senior player but he isn't as good as Theo.
He doesn't need to defend as Jerry does it allHe’s possibly our most talented player going forward, needs to polish his final decision making. But if he was the finished article he wouldn’t be playing for us.
Offers nothing defensively but that’s not why he’s in the team.
He’s a classy player.
Ollygon…he was the only one for a large part of the game to actually drive at their defence…as usual one comes along to have a go at him….maybe Ollygon should be Ollygon too.How many times did he have the ball and go for a shot when he could have laid it off to someone in a better position.
Gary Madine was going mad with him as well, trying to get him to move further up the field and pick up his headers.
Thank God for your reply thought this was going to be another thread about hoping our best players leave.I don't think the ball was that easy to be fair, he had two players in the way
He strikes me as someone who didn't play football as a kid & hasn't therefore got the nouce in certain situations rather than being purely selfish. Doubt his team mates dislike him probably more frustrated with his decision making at times. I'm always glad to see his name in the starting eleven.A bit worrying that his teammates and his manager give him pelters every game and he seems to pay no attention whatsoever. He is awesome gong forward when on song, if he had a brain he'd be a regular matchwinner.
That is a positive, Big Gaz wants more from Theo.Theo and Gaz were having a heated debate on the bench after they’d both been subbed.
I love that he follows his instinct and goes for it, he’ll learn to get his head up more in time. It’s great to still have one of those players that will really put fear into defenders.
A few agree, and more than a few disagree.
Yes it's good when he shoots, but he needs to hone his decision making and all round game.
I think the fact that Appleton brought him off when he did reflects what the manager thought of his performance.
Appleton subbed Theo not Madine .Have slept on it. Completely missed the needle between GM and Theo yesterday but honestly didn't spot an occasion where he should have obviously passed.
Theo constantly driving at the Watford defence played a big part in us turning up the heat on them from 70ish minutes. Before that, the game could've gone either way. I thought Theo being subbed was a bit wacky at the time and Lavery came on and did nothing. That said, it all worked out.
So yeah, sounds like GM was being a bit of a dick. It's not as if he's in a rich vein of form. More than happy for Theo to keep beating defenders and getting shots off. Maybe miss the odd pass, so what.
Yep the goal machine was getting a little irate with Theo. Don’t upset big Gaz Theo lad !Great player, he’s just what we needed, started out as a headless chicken but he’s just got better and better, sometimes he’s a bit greedy but the best players tend to be, my main worry is that the goal machine may end up twating him
I don't think we are talking about 1 incident, I think it was over the last 3 or4 games.............and no doubt if Theo passed the ball then the O/P ( and others ) would criticise him for not shooting when he had a chance.
Leave the lad alone, he is coming along very nicely thank you and he has bags of confidence
I know he subbed Theo. Completely reject the idea that GM gets to 'coach' some of our young talented players with his seniority. In fact, there's a very clear rationale for a smart defender-beating player - good with the ball and who knows where the onion bag is - not to pass to GM. I'd back a sprinting and pivoting Theo to score from 25 yards vs the goal machine with a clear cut chance from 15 yards all day long. It would be a ** travesty if Gary Madine of all players gets to run Theo down. He didn't do it with Bowler so what's his game?Appleton subbed Theo not Madine .
I presume for not carrying out the plan you'd expect Gaz as one of the senior players to be a leader on the pitch he wasn't being a dick.
Maybe Gaz has been given the job of mentoring himTheo and Gaz were having a heated debate on the bench after they’d both been subbed.
I love that he follows his instinct and goes for it, he’ll learn to get his head up more in time. It’s great to still have one of those players that will really put fear into defenders.
