It's an incremental thing isn't it. You think you've had the worst one, then something else comes along.
Re-election was awful, but I'd only been going 2-3 years full time at that point. Although the shame of it was large, there were clubs who seemed like they re-applied every year at that time, and were always successful - Hartlepool, Rochdale, Crewe etc. So it would have been extremely strange if our only attempt at it ended in failure.
The Sherpa thing (or whatever it was called) 2 leg Northern final with Bolton hurt a lot at the time. The feeling that we'd been completely gypped on the night by bad decisions, and lost what appeared to be the only chance ever to go to Wembley with Blackpool, plus having to watch them all celebrating on the pitch at the end. That was a hard one to take.
Bradford obviously stands out, although I wasn't at the game as I was playing that night. So I've only ever had the highlights to judge all the points of debate from on here over the years, leaves you ever so slightly detached from it.
West Ham result was just the culmination of a completely different day to Cardiff. Everything about Cardiff just felt like it was going to happen, nothing about WH did, although we played better in it. I walked alongside a WH fan down Wembley Way, well that was a load of crap he said. I just stared at him - you're effing right it was, you've just been played off the park and still scabbed a win.
